🎮 **A Red Dead Redemption 2 ReShade preset that makes you feel more realistic! **
✨ Module Introduction
There are already many excellent "Red Dead Redemption 2" ReShade presets. I personally really like the RDR 2 Alonz preset made by **Alonz73** and based this version on it. Many thanks to him for creating such a great piece of work!
I mostly used his presets and added some of my personal favorite settings. The overall performance impact is very minimal, only a **1-5 FPS** drop is observed on my configuration (2560x1440 resolution / 1080ti graphics card / 8700k @ 4.7GHz).

🚀 Performance optimization tips
Before applying this ReShade, my game framerate was around 40-45 FPS. After watching **Hardware Unboxed**'s optimization video, my frame rate successfully increased to **60+ FPS**! It is highly recommended that you also take a look at:

📥 Installation Guide
- **Install ReShade**: My installation method is a bit special. In order for it to work properly, I had to install ReShade in **Vulkan** mode to both `launcher.exe` and `RDR2.exe`.
- When installing, I selected all ReShade effect options.
*This is the only method I've personally found that works perfectly. Trees will have a lot of graphical errors when using DX12 mode, but if you choose DX12 this preset should work too. Of course, this could be an issue with the ReShade installation on my own computer and nothing to do with the game or the preset itself.
- **Place Preset File**: Place my `.ini` configuration file into your game home directory (where the `.exe` file is located).
- **Shortcut Key Settings**: In the game, I set the **Insert** key to open the ReShade settings menu, and the **Scroll Lock** key to turn on and off all effects. Not sure if the default shortcut key will become the **Home** key after installing my preset.
- **Select Preset**: In the ReShade menu drop-down list in the game, select **KindaRealReshade.ini**.

⚙️ Tips for use
If the contrast feels like it's too high, you have two options:
- Turn down contrast in **DPX** settings.
- Or turn off the **DPX** effect directly.
I find this adjustment to be simple enough that I don't provide a separate download for it.

📝 Update log
**Version 1.00a**
- Reduce the excessive red display of flame light sources and character faces. This adjustment also reduces red tones globally, but is most noticeable in the areas mentioned above.
- Mainly adjusted the **Vibrancy** and **DPX** settings. Feel free to try tweaking it and share your findings!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
