Install
Open MagicRDR, navigate to Red Dead Redemption/Game/ffragments.rpf, and open the fragments.rpf file. It is recommended to back up this file first in case you want to restore to default settings later.
Once inside fragments.rpf, click on the "fragments" folder on the left to display the list. Drag and drop the files "player_runkdirty_cs_player_drunkdirty_hat_cs.wft" and "player_runkdirty_set_player_drunkdirty_hat.wft" from the download folder into fragments.rpf and select "Replace" for both files.
Next, click the File button in the upper left corner of MagicRDR, hover over Save, select Current, and click Yes
Using the File button again, navigate to Red Dead Redemption/Game/tune_d11generic.rpf and open "tune_d11generical.rpf" (best to back it up too). On the left, click Tune, then click Settings. Drag and drop the "smictofragmap.txt" file from the downloads folder, replace the existing file, and save, just like in the previous steps.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
