Warming Lava

The original version of this mod was mostly to let rava rivers warm you (reduce cold) when in the Alpines.

Then people were using it in harder ascents to combat night cold! This is now dynamic and increases on how close you are to the lava source and now works for lava rivers, lava tides (caldera) as well as the rising lava and magma rocks in the kiln.

NOW you can us it as a way to make your lobbies more difficult by turning on "Overheating"

This will allow all the lava sources to still reduce your cold but if you are near it for too long,

it will add hot affliction becoming a danger to be too close to certain lava source increasing the difficulty of the caldera and kiln biomes! The magma rocks are very dangerous so please use the ModConfig mod to adjust things live in game!

Configs sync with host if they have the mod for challenge lobbies otherwise the mod still works client side for reducing cold only!

Any issues, suggestions or love can be thrown at me in the PEAK modding discord

FAIR WARNING MAGMA ROCKS ARE WAY TOO DANGEROUS CURRENTLY!

Features

  • Warm near lava – Cold reduction (or Hot with Overheat) when close to supported sources
  • Distance falloff – Strongest within ~1m; fades to 10% of max rate at the edge of each source radius
  • Per-source control – Enable/disable and tune radius for rivers, tides, rising lava, and magma rocks
  • Overheat mode – Optional Hot instead of only clearing Cold
  • Lightweight – 1s coroutine tick; stays dormant unless Cold > 0 (or Overheat is on)

Warmth sources

| Source | Where | Notes |

|--------|--------|--------|

| Lava rivers | Alpine (and similar) | Spline-based LavaRiver |

| Lava tides | Caldera | Floor tide lava |

| Rising lava | Kiln | Rising lava plane (+ MovingLava) |

Slider 0 = off for that source. Slider 10 = that source’s full tuned range (meters scale per source).

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.

Dependencies

Install these first, or the mod will not work:
