SteadyVisionBoost

v1.0.1·Updated 2026-09-21

Field of view (FOV) expansion, pure profile control, no menu. The game's native "climbing vision increase" can be changed to a full stack, and the number of seconds to retain the bonus after stopping climbing can be set to avoid frequent zooming of the vision. Final vision = game setting vision + climbing vision increase (on demand) + vision bonus. The two bonuses are added together without repeated calculation, and can exceed the upper limit of the game settings panel. Native rendering only, just install it yourself.

Steady Vision Boost

The field of view (FOV) expansion allows the game's native "climbing field of view increase" to be permanent, and the number of seconds to retain the bonus after stopping climbing can be set to avoid frequent zooming of the field of view. Native rendering only, just install it yourself. (Final field of view = game setting field of view + climbing field of view increase (on demand) + field of view bonus, the two bonuses are added together without repeated calculation, and can exceed the upper limit of the game settings panel)

Function

  • Additional vision bonus, permanent effect in any state.
  • The climbing field of view takes effect throughout the whole process: You can change the "increasing climbing field of view" in the game settings panel from only when climbing to superimposing the whole process, so that the width seen on flat ground and climbing can be the same.
  • Delay cancellation: After stopping climbing, the climbing bonus can be retained for a specified number of seconds to allow time for the field of view to converge and avoid frequent zooming caused by the reversal of the field of view as soon as it is enlarged.
  • Upper limit clamping: The final field of view is clamped to the settable upper limit to prevent the picture from being damaged by pulling the camera to 180 degrees.
  • Smooth transition: The field of view asymptotically reaches the target value at a fixed rate. The feel is consistent with the native climbing bonus, and there will be no instantaneous jump.
  • Pure client: Only changes the camera parameters on your own side. It does not affect other players and does not require installation by the homeowner.

How to use

The configuration file is in the "Visual View" group of BepInEx/config/SteadyVisionBoost.cfg, and the changes will take effect immediately.

| Configuration | Default | Description |

| --- | --- | --- |

| Vision bonus | 0 | Additional increased vision degree, permanent in any state. 0 is consistent with the original; increasing the size can significantly widen the field of view, and the edge distortion of the picture will be enhanced |

| Climbing bonus permanent | false | After turning it on, the "climbing vision increase" in the game settings will no longer only take effect when climbing, but will be superimposed throughout the process. This value is taken from the game settings panel (default is 40 degrees, can be set to 0~50), and is not a configuration item of this Mod |

| Climbing bonus cancellation delay | 1.5 | The number of seconds to retain the climbing vision bonus after stopping climbing. 0 is the native behavior (cancel immediately); increasing the size can prevent the field of view from inverting as soon as it is enlarged. This item is invalid when "Climbing Bonus Permanent" is turned on |

| Upper limit of field of view | 179 | The upper limit of final field of view being clamped. Do not set it to 180: 180 degrees will cause the camera's projection matrix to divide by zero, and the picture will be directly damaged. You don’t need to be so wide, you can adjust it smaller |

How to calculate field of view

Final field of view = game settings "field of view" + climbing field of view increase (on demand) + field of view bonus, resulting in the "upper limit of field of view" being clamped.

| Game Settings Vision | Climbing Vision Increase | Vision Bonus | Standing | Wall Climbing |

| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |

| 70 | 20 | 40 | 110 | 130 |

| 70 | 20 | 20 | 90 | 110 |

| 70 | 30 | 20 | 90 | 120 |

| 100 | 50 | 60 | 160 | Clamp to 179 |

A few additional points:

  • The baseline is not a fixed 70, but the current value of the "Field of View" slider in your game settings (60~100).
  • When the sum of the three items exceeds the "upper limit of field of view", it will be clamped, and the calculation will no longer be based on the formula.
  • After "Resident Climbing Bonus" is turned on, the standing target is also equal to "baseline + climbing vision increase + vision bon …

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
