Safe Beehive Looting
Loot beehives without getting wrecked by the swarm.
Calm bees with flare smoke, lit campfires, or a blowgun — or flip calm off and those same tools disperse swarms instead. Harvest honeycomb, pocket beehives, build sting resistance, and (optionally) become a Trusted Beekeeper.
Find the mod in the Peak Modding Discord under #mod-releases.
Blowguns knockdown beehives and if calming is on it will calm the swarm
Falling with beehives in your inventory will break them and drop available honeyocmb
Bees make more honeycomb when calmed if beehive is stored in backpack or outside of pocket
Perma-Calmed bees stay in hive but will leave to attack other players that arent the original beekeeper
Features
- Flare smoke, lit campfires, and blowgun hits calm or disperse bee swarms (config)
- Blowgun knockdown for tree-mounted beehives
- Pocket / backpack beehives
- Harvest honeycomb from a hive (HarvestKey, default G)
- Custom honeycomb budget per hive when harvest is enabled
- Fall-break: hard falls smash carried / stored hives and spill honeycomb
- Perma=calm bees after 4 calms from any source OR 2 campfire calmings
- Calmed bees can regen honeycomb inside beehives when they are in backpacks or on ground/trees
- Bee sting resistance that builds from bee poison
- Host handshake + host config sync in multiplayer
Multiplayer
Full features require the host to have this mod. Host settings sync to clients (including late joiners).
Client-only fallback (host does not have the mod)
Still works on your client:
- Flares and campfires disperse swarms
- Blowguns knock down hives and disperse swarms
- Logging (local config)
- Allow beehives in inventory (local config)
Everything else (harvest, calm mode, Trusted Beekeeper, fall-break, sting resistance, etc.) stays off until the host has the mod.
Tip: Everyone in the lobby should run the same version for the best experience.
Configuration
Generated after first launch:
BepInEx/config/tony4twentys.Safe_Beehive_looting.cfg
Works with ModConfig for in-game tweaking. HarvestKey is a KeyCode so it shows on ModConfig’s controls page.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
