Reloadable Hand Cannons 🪢🔫
Version 1.1.1 — Chain Launchers, Rope Cannons and Anti-Rope Cannons, unified and reloadable.
All 3 become "Hand Cannons" you can reload mid-run with pitons, normal rope, or anti-grav rope. The items name, look, and shot type follow whatever ammo you load.
Improved sync between all clients when the item is spawned or reloaded!
- Pair with Splice Spools to splice together full or leftover rope spools to free up inventory slots!
- Pair with Bridge Launcher for a Bridge Cannon roll on Chain Launchers. Empty stays empty after you shoot.
- 🗣️ Find the mod in the Peak Modding Discord under #mod-releases for issues, reports, or appreciation
🛠️ Features
Ammo types (both cannon bodies)
- 📌 Piton — fires a climbing spike / piton shot
- 🪢 Normal rope — fires a standard rope shot (uses that cannon’s shot length)
- 🌌 Anti-grav rope — fires an anti-grav rope shot (uses anti-rope shot length)
- ✅ Either cannon or chain launcher can be reloaded with any of the three ammo types
Smart rope spool usage
- 📏 Tracks real spool length (segments / meters) — a reload costs a full cannon shot’s worth of rope, not a whole spool by default
- 🧩 Combines spools when one spool isn’t long enough — uses multiple inventory/backpack spools until the required length is met
- ✂️ Supports partial spool deduction so leftover length stays on the spool when possible
- 🎒 Optional backpack reload — pull ammo from a worn backpack as well as hotbar slots
Reload flow
- 🔑 Hold an empty Hand Cannon and press R (configurable) to reload
- ⚡ If only one valid ammo option is available, it reloads immediately — no menu
- 📋 The ammo picker menu only opens when you have multiple ammo types available (e.g. a piton and enough rope). Pick with 1 / 2 / 3, click a button, or cancel with Esc / reload key again
World / visuals
- 🏷️ Dynamic names: Piton Cannon, Rope Cannon, Anti-Rope Cannon, Chain Cannon, Bridge Cannon, or Hand Cannon when empty
- 🖼️ Inventory icons follow the load: empty gun, piton, rope, anti-grav, or chain / bridge
- 👀 Barrel visuals update for piton vs rope vs anti-rope loads
- 🎲 Fresh Rope Cannons can spawn loaded as piton or rope (configurable chance). Anti-Rope Cannons and Chain Launchers remain vanilla on spawn (unless you have Bridge Launcher)
🎮 How to use
- Find a Rope Cannon, Anti-Rope Cannon, or Chain Launcher in the world
- Fire it until it’s empty
- Carry pitons and/or rope / anti-grav rope spools (hotbar and optionally backpack)
- Press R while holding the empty cannon
- If you only have one ammo type that works → it reloads right away
If you have more than one → choose from the menu
Tip: Short leftover spools still count — the mod will combine them to make a full shot when needed.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
