About this mod Machine translation
PEAK Sprint Lock
Hands-free walking and running, with manual steering.
Press Forward + Caps Lock to keep walking, or Sprint + Forward + Caps Lock to keep running. Release the keys and keep moving. Press Caps Lock again or move backward to cancel.
Controls/Operations
| Default keys / Default keys | Result / Effect |
| --- | --- |
| W + Caps Lock | Lock walking / Walking lock: AUTO WALK |
| Shift + W + Caps Lock | Lock running / running lock: AUTO RUN |
| Caps Lock again, or S | Cancel / Unlock |
| Mouse and A/D | Steer and strafe / Steer and traverse |
The mode is captured when activated. Releasing Shift keeps a running lock; pressing Shift during a walking lock does not change its mode. Cancel and activate again to change modes. Movement and held-sprint actions follow your game's key bindings.
The mode depends on whether the sprint button is held down at the moment of activation. Keep this mode after releasing the button; if you need to switch, cancel it first and then use the corresponding key combination to reopen it.
Install with a mod manager / Manager installation
- Select PEAK in r2modman or a compatible manager and create a profile.
- Install BepInExPack_PEAK by BepInEx from the online mod list.
- For a ZIP shared directly by the author, use Import local mod in the profile/settings controls and select the ZIP. Its location varies by manager version. Once published, install PeakSprintLock from the online list instead.
- Launch using Start modded.
Select PEAK and create a new configuration. First install BepInExPack_PEAK, then select the received ZIP through the manager's "Import local mod / Import local Mod", and finally click "Start modded / Start modded game". Ordinary players do not need to install the .NET SDK, compile code, or use development startup scripts.
Manual install / manual installation
First install BepInExPack_PEAK following its instructions. With the game closed, copy this package's plugins/PeakSprintLock folder into the active installation/profile's BepInEx/plugins/ folder. The resulting DLL path must be:
BepInEx/plugins/PeakSprintLock/PeakSprintLock.dll
BepInExPack_PEAK needs to be installed for the first time. Exit the game and copy the plugins/PeakSprintLock folder in the package to BepInEx/plugins/ of the configuration you are using. Do not treat the entire distribution ZIP as a complete BepInEx installation package.
Behavior / behavior
- Keeps the game's normal movement, stamina consumption and collision handling.
- Jumping keeps the lock; entering climbing, ropes or vines cancels it.
- Backward input, crouch input, pause, blocking menus/wheels, losing focus, incapacitation, death and scene changes cancel the lock.
- Running lock cancels when regular stamina is empty by default. Walking can remain locked with empty stamina.
- Cancelled movement never automatically resumes.
- No automatic obstacle avoidance, cliff braking, pathfinding or teammate following.
The original physical consumption, movement and collision rules are retained. Jumping remains locked; it is canceled by climbing, backing up, crouching, pausing, blocking input from the menu/wheel, cutting out of the game, comatose, dying, or switching scenes. Running out of stamina only cancels running lock by default. After cancellation, you need to manually reopen it. There is no automatic obstacle avoidance or cliff braking function.
Configuration/settings
Launch once to generate BepInEx/config/dev.midor.peaksprintlock.cfg. Exit the game before editing, then relaunch.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
