PeakSpectatorMode (better viewing angle)
English | Chinese is below
A match-spectating / free-camera mod for PEAK. Provides a GodCam-style free-fly view, smooth player switching, soft follow, overhead player labels, x-ray silhouettes, and automatic compatibility with several popular mods.
All player-facing text is bilingual (English / Chinese). In-game text follows the game's language automatically, and the config UI shows both languages. See Language below.
I'm not a programmer. I can only use AI to realize my ideas. This mod is 100% created by AI (fable5&Opus5). Before its release, I had conducted quite thorough tests to ensure it would run properly, but there is still a possibility of errors. If this still occurs, I'm sorry. You can find me in the official PEAK Discord group.@-AIAE-(yomenoya)
Features
Core camera
- F3 toggle the free camera (GodCam)
- ESC exit the free camera while spectating
- F4 reset the camera near the local player
- Q / E switch to the next / previous player (living players only)
- WASD + Space/E/LeftCtrl/Q free flight (same as GodCam defaults)
- LeftShift speed boost
- Alt hold to smoothly slow the free camera by a configurable multiplier (default 33%); release to smoothly restore
- Scroll wheel adjust FOV
- X hold for telescope zoom
- Mouse2 (wheel click) reset scroll zoom
- Uses a configurable move damping (default 3) to keep free-camera movement stable
Soft follow
- Auto-starts after the transition to a player completes
- While following you can freely rotate, adjust zoom and nudge position without interrupting it
- Exits only when the camera is farther than the soft-follow max distance (default 20 m)
- A right-pointing white arrow is shown to the left of the followed player's name
Overhead player labels
- In free camera, shows each player's name + altitude, scaled by distance
- Labels mirror the vanilla nameplate style (same font, outline, shadow) and follow TimeTheme's day/night colors when installed
- A vanilla-style speaker icon appears left of the name while that player is talking (muted icon for volume-zeroed players)
- C 3-step cycle: name + arrow -> name only -> hide all -> name + arrow
- F temporarily show/hide all overhead labels
- Overhead arrow style options: Rounded Glass / Outline Glass
X-ray silhouettes
- When a player is occluded, a translucent same-skin-tone silhouette is shown so you never lose track
HUD control
- In free camera the HUD is minimized by default (hides interaction prompts, inventory, crosshair, vanilla names, etc.), keeping the stamina bar, top timer and top-right map
Forced death
- Alt + F3 hold for 3 seconds to force the local player to die (a quick way to enter ghost spectating)
- Automatically disabled when GhostSpectator compatibility is active (no need if you're already a ghost)
Language
- In-game text (e.g. the forced-death warning) follows the game's current language automatically: Simplified/Traditional Chinese shows Chinese, otherwise English.
- Config UI: every section, key name and description shows English and Chinese together.
- Logs: 0. General / Log Language (Auto / English / Chinese) controls console/log message language. Auto follows the in-game language.
Third-party compatibility
When the mod detects the following mods it enables the matching compatibility logic automatically (all are always on).
GhostSpectator
- Disables Alt+F3 forced death while in permanent ghost-spectator state
- Takes over the spectator HUD while the F3 free camera is active
- Filters out permanent spectators in Summit Roster to avoid fake heights
BetterPlayerDistance
- Temporarily hides BPD2's name and distance labels when entering the F3 free camera (avoids double-HUD overlap)
- Restores BPD2's original user config when exiting F3
Summit Roster
- Moves the progress bar to the right side of the screen (optional)
- Shows an indicator arrow for the currently observed player
- Adds an 8-direction shadow to the font for readability
- Fallback filter for abnormal al …
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
