PEAK Tool Belt 🛠️🎒
Original intended to only be used to pull out items that youd like to have for the climb but not the pain of using inventory slots for them.
By default it has: Binoculars, Bugle, Compass and the Guidebook. These items are not OP to have at all times but can be useful or fun to have for the climb
HOWEVER, this mod will allow the host to also set it up to work like a starter kit that doesnt effect weight untill you spawn the item.
Kind of like my Custom Starter Kits mod sort of.
Use the new mod menu to setup the toolbelt!
Works in solo and multiplayer. The host's belt list is the one everyone sees.

Features
- Vanilla like inventory slots
- Hold T, hover a slot, release T to take that item (same as the backpack). Click still works if you want it. Number keys only switch your real inventory
- New items are one-time. Mark one Protected and it never leaves the belt
- Unprotected items have a Uses count (default 1). Three aloe uses one slot, then the slot disappears after the third take
- Protected items are marked. Dropping or throwing them does not leave a copy in the world. Taking the slot again puts that same item back in your hand or pocket, or spawns a replacement if it was destroyed
- Empty / spent slots hide themselves
- Live item list includes vanilla items and late-loading mod items (PEAKLib, Luggage Items extras, and so on)
- Named presets for custom games (save / load / delete)
- Host extras sync with Photon RaiseEvent 165 (no room CustomProperties)
- Clients stay locked out in a lobby whose host does not have the mod
Setup menu
Open with Ctrl+J. The item list loads from the live game database when the menu opens. A pause-menu button is optional and off by default.
From that menu you can set:
- Every item on the belt
- Protected (stays on the belt, infinite, cannot be dumped into the world)
- Uses for unprotected items (1–99, one slot, restocks on Airport / biome)
- Belt hold key
- Menu hotkey and pause-menu button
- Slots per row
- Reset defaults or clear the belt
- Presets — save, load, and delete named belts for custom games. Closing the menu updates default
Search filters the list. Hosts lock the item list for the lobby; clients can still change their own keys.
The live belt is saved to BepInEx/config/tony4twentys.PEAK_Tool_Belt.items.json. Named presets live in a Presets folder next to the plugin DLL.
Usage
- Set the belt up in the menu (or keep the default tools)
- Start a run (Airport or a biome)
- Hold T to open the belt above your hotbar (cursor unlocks, like a backpack)
- Hover a slot
- Release T to take that item and close the belt
Unprotected slots disappear after their uses are spent. Protected slots always stay.
Uses restock on the next Airport / biome scene.
Default items
Binoculars, bugle, compass, and guidebook. All four start Protected.
Anything you add later starts unprotected with 1 use. Reset defaults restores those four.
Config
The menu is the supported way. Hand-edits go in BepInEx/config/tony4twentys.PEAK_Tool_Belt.cfg under [General].

|---------|---------|-------------|
| OpenToolBelt | T | Hold to open the belt, hover a slot, release to take it |

| RequireMenuModifier | true | Off = J alone opens the menu |

Dependencies
- BepInExPack_PEAK
PhotonCustomPropsUtils is no longer required.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
