MagicBeanPiP

v0.6.0·Updated 2026-09-25

When charging to throw magic beans, use the picture-in-picture window to preview the final landing point and growth position of the entire vine in real time; the default 4 viewing angles are adjustable for surround angle, pitch angle, field of view orientation and camera distance and can be observed on the same screen; predicted vines are pink = can stand, gray = cannot stand.

Magic Bean Picture-in-Picture Preview

When holding the magic bean to charge up, use the picture-in-picture window in the corner of the screen (can display multiple windows, multiple angles, and a comprehensive view) to preview where the entire vine will eventually grow and how high it will grow.

Function

By default, 4 picture-in-picture windows are opened, allowing you to view the entire vine from the top and side, the bottom side, the middle, and the bottom. Each perspective can independently adjust the surround angle, pitch angle, which part of the vine the camera looks at, camera distance, field of view, window position and size.

When you hold down the throw button to charge, the window will appear, and the charge value and angle will be updated in real time. After releasing the throw, you can stay for a few seconds and watch the magic beans fly to the landing point.

When there are no other prediction vines in the scene, this Mod draws a translucent prediction vine by itself. Pink means it can stand, while gray means it cannot stand. This vine is only visible in the picture-in-picture window by default, and the main view picture is not affected (to avoid conflicts if you install other vine prediction mods). You can turn on the main view prediction in the configuration file.

How to use

  • Pick up the magic beans and hold down the throw button (default Q) to charge
  • The picture-in-picture window in the corner of the screen shows the landing point and height of the entire vine.
  • Fine-tune the power accumulation while moving the perspective, and the window will change in real time.
  • Let go and throw it out, and the window will stop for a while until the vines fall to the ground.

The configuration file is in BepInEx/config/MagicBeanPiP.cfg. Changes will only take effect after restarting the game.

| Configuration | Default | Description |

|---|---|---|

| Enable | On | Main switch |

| The number of seconds to keep the prediction after throwing | 0 | How many seconds to keep the window after letting go, 0 means to close it immediately |

| Display prediction vines from the main perspective | Off | Self-built prediction vines are only visible in the window by default |

| Debug log | Off | Output detailed log |

Views 1 ~ 4 each have their own set of parameters:

| Configuration | Default (View 1~4) | Description |

|---|---|---|

| Enable | Fully open | Switch the view window |

| Horizontal wrap angle | 0 / 90 / 180 / 0 | Wrap angle around vines, -180 ~ 180 |

| Pitch angle | 15 / 10 / 0 / -25 | -30 ~ 90, negative value means the camera looks up under the vines |

| View direction | Top/Bottom/Middle/Middle | 0 Bottom, 1 Middle, 2 Top |

| Camera Distance | 2 / 0 / 0 / 0 | Meters. 0 means automatic framing to ensure that the entire tree is in the picture, and filling in the number will fix the distance for closer viewing |

| Field of view angle | 60 | 20 ~ 110, the smaller, the closer |

| Window position | Lower right/lower left/upper right/upper left | 0 lower right, 1 lower left, 2 upper right, 3 upper left |

| Window width | 360 / 360 / 320 / 320 | Pixels, height is calculated as 16:9 |

| Show perspective label | On | Display the perspective name in the upper left corner of the window |

| View label text | Top side, etc. | Label text, different according to viewing angle |

The window is only displayed when it is charging, within the retention period after being thrown, and when the actual vines are predicted to exist after landing. It is automatically turned off at other times to save performance. Opening multiple windows requires rendering the scene each time, which incurs additional overhead. You can open them on demand.

Install

Depends on BepInEx 5.4.75301. You can install it with r2modman or gale, and the dependencies will be processed automatically.

Manual installation: After unzipping, copy MagicBeanPiP.dll in the plugins folder to BepInEx/plugins/, and start the game.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
