About this mod Author’s original text

HUDBuddy

A lightweight multiplayer HUD enhancer for PEAK that displays the item slots and backpack of nearby players on your screen.

Notes

This mod includes optional proximity filtering which hides player HUDs beyond a configurable distance. This can be toggled via the BepInEx config. Be aware: proximity mode may occasionally desync or behave unexpectedly as players move in and out of range.

Features

  • Live HUDs for other players’ item slots and backpacks
  • Customizable HUD refresh rate and font size
  • Proximity-based visibility (toggleable via config)
  • Auto-sorting HUDs with dynamic stacking
  • Clean integration with PEAK's UI

Installation

  • Download BepInEx 5.4.23.3
  • Extract into your PEAK game directory (Steam → PEAK → Manage → Browse Local Files)
  • Run the game once to generate the plugin folders
  • Place HUDBuddy.dll into BepInEx/Plugins
  • Launch the game normally

Configuration

After launching the game once, open the generated config file at:

BepInEx/config/com.onigremlin.HUDBuddy.cfg

Available settings:

  • Proximity (true/false)
  • ProximityDistance (float, in Unity units)
  • MaxHuds (int)
  • FontSize (float)
  • HUDRefreshRate (float, in seconds)

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.

Dependencies

Install these first, or the mod will not work:
