English

FrogSkill gives every living Scout a frog tongue that can hook and pull other Scouts and Zombies. Press C to switch between the Custom tongue and a vanilla-client-compatible tongue that borrows PEAK's Frog model.

Features

  • Frog-style pulling: Uses PEAK's current Frog pull curve, maximum lift distance, force formula, drag, and release ordering.
  • Two tongue modes: Switch between Custom visuals and PEAK's original Frog tongue without changing the fire key.
  • Vanilla-client-compatible option: Successful Vanilla-mode hits are visible to players who have not installed the mod.
  • Scout and Zombie targets: Pull living Scouts, transformed Zombie Scouts, and NPC Mushroom Zombies.
  • Aim forgiveness: Slight near-misses can select a visible target near the crosshair without pulling through physical obstructions.
  • Miss animation: A missed shot briefly extends and retracts along the aimed direction without applying force.
  • Multiplayer visuals: Firing, pulling, releasing, and tongue visuals are synchronized between modded clients.

Installation

Install Mod Manager or r2modman. Manual installation requires BepInEx 5 and ModConfig; place FrogSkill.dll in PEAK/BepInEx/plugins/FrogSkill.

Only players who want to fire a tongue need to install FrogSkill. Installation requirements for visuals depend on the selected mode:

| Mode | Multiplayer visuals |

|---|---|

| Custom | Clients without FrogSkill cannot see the custom tongue |

| Vanilla | Unmodded clients can see successful tongue hits; the temporary Frog model may occasionally clip through the Scout |

Controls

Custom mode is selected by default. Press C to switch modes; an on-screen notification shows the newly selected mode. Switching does not interrupt an active pull and applies to the next shot.

Aim at a living Scout or supported Zombie and press G to fire. A direct crosshair hit always takes priority; after a direct miss, an unobstructed target within the configured forgiveness cone can be selected. The assist radius grows with distance, and multiple candidates are resolved in favor of the one closest to the crosshair. Once the cooldown has elapsed, press G again while pulling to release the current target and fire toward the new aim direction. Pressing it during cooldown leaves the current pull untouched. Both bindings use Unity Input System control paths and can be changed in the config. The modes share one cooldown and cannot pull simultaneously.

If no valid target is selected, the tongue performs a short miss animation without triggering the skill cooldown. Custom-mode misses are synchronized to modded clients; Vanilla-mode misses are visible only to the firing player. The maximum visual length is 35% of the configured target range and stops early on physical obstructions.

Configuration

The config file is generated at BepInEx/config/com.github.lllei.FrogSkill.cfg.

| Key | Default | Allowed range |

|---|---:|---:|

| General.Enabled | true | boolean |

| Controls.Activation Path | /g | Unity Input System button path |

| Controls.Mode Switch Path | /c | Unity Input System button path |

| Tongue.Max Distance | 40 | 5 to 60 |

| Tongue.Aim Forgiveness Degrees | 3 | 0 to 10 degrees; 0 disables assistance |

| Tongue.Pull Force | 450 | 0 to 2000 |

| Tongue.Lift Force | 30 | 0 to 500 |

| Tongue.Max Hook Duration | 1 | 0.5 to 10 seconds |

| Tongue.Stop Distance | 5 | 1 to 10 |

| Tongue.Extra Drag Other | 0.95 | 0 to 1 |

| Tongue.Extra Drag Let Go | 0.1 | 0 to 1 |

| Tongue.Cooldown | 0.5 | 0 to 60 seconds |

Each control setting accepts one Unity Input System path, for example /g or /rightShoulder. Leave a path empty to disable that action. Both modes share the distance, force, duration, stop-distance, and cooldown settings. ExtraDragOther and ExtraDragLetGo apply only to Custom mode because Vanilla mode uses the original Frog's client-side drag behavior.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.

Dependencies

Install these first, or the mod will not work:
