DizzinessMod

Move fast, get hit, fall — and your world spins.

Part of the TambiStudios Afflictions Pack (with Bleeding and Fatigue).

How dizziness builds

  • High speed while airborne — falling / flying > 10.5 m/s. Scales quadratically with speed.
  • Falling rocks / icicles and boss knockbacks — any real Injury above the threshold.
  • Airborne collisions — sudden velocity change > 9 m/s (hitting a wall, landing hard, getting shoved).
  • Fast camera rotation — sustained > 300°/sec (whirling your view around).
  • Dynamite explosions — scales with distance, max within 5 m.
  • Heavy bleeding (from Tambi_Studios-Bleeding, if installed) — slow passive tick.

How it feels at each stage

  • 0–40%: nothing visible, world sounds normal.
  • 40–65%: screen edges darken, subtle animated grain, a very slight micro-shake to the camera. Movement gets a little slower.
  • 65–100%: a high-pitched tinnitus and progressive muffling of the world. Vignette closes in. Camera sways. At max: you pass out mid-air until you land.
  • Landing hard while >30% dizzy: heavy 1.6-second audio muffle. You just got clobbered.

Effects respond to both your dizziness AND your remaining stamina — so blood loss, hunger, cold, poison etc. also darken the world and muffle sound (linearly), even if your dizzy meter is empty.

Recovery

Dizziness drains 0.05/sec anywhere — walking, climbing, hanging, on the ground. The only time it doesn't drain is during pass-out (so you stay down until you land) and while active dizziness gain is happening.

Bugle relief: someone tooting a bugle within 30 m drains everyone's dizziness at the same rate.

Custom Expedition difficulty integration

| Other Damage | Gain rate |

|---|---|

| Off | Mod disabled |

| Low | x1 |

| Normal | x3 |

| High | x5 |

Motion sickness safety

Everything visual and audio is optional:

  • Visuals.VisualIntensity (0..1) — scales all visual effects together.
  • Visuals.DisableCameraSway — kill camera roll + FOV sway.
  • Visuals.DisableVignette — kill dark edges + grain overlay.
  • Audio.DisableEarRinging — kill tinnitus + low-pass filter.

Compatibility

  • Stamina bar and affliction icons remain visible on top of the darkening effect (rendered on a Canvas below the HUD).
  • Compatible with StaminaStats — our custom bar registers as a normal affliction.
  • Spider grabs are recognised via the Web status and do not trigger any dizziness (fixes the "spider yanks you 60 m and you die instantly" bug).
  • Fully synced over Photon (PunRPC at 5 Hz).
  • Safe in solo and multiplayer.

Installation

Use r2modman or any mod manager. Requires: BepInEx 5.4.x (PEAK pack).

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
