About this mod Author’s original text
🐸 Death Lick
Death Lick Frog tongues are lethal. When a frog licks you, you die.
Features
- Instant death on a frog tongue hit (DieInstantly, same as the game’s instant-kill path)
- Connect sound still plays (including the local hit sound)
- No pull — the frog does not drag you in after the lick
- Tongue cleanup — after the hit, the tongue returns to rest and the frog hops away
- Thrown frogs use the same lethal lick
- Toggle off to restore vanilla frog tongues (pull and all)
How It Works
- Vanilla FrogTongue.Attack is skipped while the mod is on
- The frog still winds up, extends the tongue, and plays the connect SFX
- The licked player dies on their own client when the tongue connects
- Campfire totems still save you if DieInstantly would normally checkpoint
- Turning the mod off aborts any Death Lick in progress and lets frogs attack normally again
Configuration
Config path: BepInEx/config/tony4twentys.Death_Lick.cfg
| Key | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Enabled | If on, a frog tongue hit kills you instantly with no pull. If off, frogs use vanilla tongue behavior. Host setting is synced to clients who have the mod. | true |
Multiplayer
- Each player who should die from a lick needs the mod installed
- Death itself is the vanilla RPCA_Die RPC, so everyone sees the kill
- Host has the mod: Enabled is host-synced. Clients cannot override it while in that lobby
- Host does not have the mod: no handshake, no disable — clients keep their local Enabled setting
- If only the host has the mod, only the host dies when licked
Requirements
- BepInExPack_PEAK

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
