About this mod Author’s original text
BetterNoRevivePenalty
Get revived without the Curse status effect.
Won't break destructively blocking revives. (Doesn't touch revive/respawn logic itself). Matches curse effect by name among other things for attempted future-proofing.
Covers every revive that curses you: Ancient Statue, Book of Bones, and the revive you get on late-join or reconnecting. Self-inflicted-boning not included.
Config
BepInEx/config/BetterNoRevivePenalty.cfg
| Setting | Default | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Block Curse | true | Blocks the Curse applied on revive. Curse from any other source is untouched. |
| Block Hunger | false | Also blocks the 30% Hunger applied on revive. |
Multiplayer
Client-side, and it applies to whoever installs it - your own character keeps a clean
status bar whether or not the host has the mod. Installing it on every client is
still nicer, since it avoids a curse flicker on other people's screens.
Install
Needs BepInEx for PEAK.
Install with a mod manager and launch.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
