Provides lobby wide improvements to chess board in airport
About this mod Author’s original text
Better Chess
This mods tries to fix the chess board located in the airport. You will not need to move your pieces a few units to the side to perfectly
align them on the grid, BetterChess will do that for you!
Note
BetterChess also has MovableChessboard as a soft dependency. Its recommended to install it in case you (or some mod) at any point decide to
move chessboard around. If not installed, chess pieces and snapping will be tied to the initial position of the chessboard.
Features
- Chess piece alignment to the chessboard grid
- Only allow snapping within the chessboard (with some offset)
- Reset chess position button
- Reset to custom positions
- Add compitability with MovableChessboard mod
- Debug visualisation of snap positions and area, accessible with a press of a button
Yet to be implemented
- Better way to handle chess piece movement (external board, etc.)
- Potentially add chess.com/lichess.org API to move pieces with the game on website
Configuration
Configuration file will be automatically generated after launching the game with mod installed.
After its created, it can be found in $PEAK_FOLDER/BepInEx/config/com.github.Kirshoo.BetterChess.cfg.
Installation
Manual
- Download.zip file
- Extract.dll from plugins folder into $PEAK_FOLDER/BepInEx/plugins folder
- Host a game and enjoy better chess!
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
