AutoCameraSpectator
Smooth spectator camera for PEAK with automatic player selection, event framing, and camera settings you can adjust while playing.
About this mod Author’s original text
Auto Camera Spectator
Stay with the action after death in PEAK. Auto Camera Spectator adds smooth camera movement, optional automatic player switching, and event framing to help you follow your teammates' climb.
This is a client-side BepInEx mod. It changes your spectator camera without changing player state or network physics.
Features
- Follow a player's view. The camera smoothly follows the direction your selected teammate is looking.
- Automatically choose who to watch. The mod weighs nearby threats, falls, low-stamina climbing, voice activity, carrying teammates, and item use. Switch delays and a preference for the current player help prevent constant switching.
- Frame nearby action. Event framing adjusts the view to try to keep the watched player and relevant nearby subjects in the shot.
- Tune the camera to your liking. Adjust tilt and height with hotkeys, or change follow speeds, rotation limits, and other settings in the config.
- Use optional eased rotation. A separate rotation mode adds gradual acceleration and deceleration, with its own settings.
- Apply settings while playing. Save the config file to update the camera without restarting PEAK.
Getting started
Player-look mode is enabled by default. Once you are dead and PEAK starts showing another player, the camera follows that player's view automatically.
Press A to enable automatic player selection, F to try event framing, or S to enable eased rotation. These options start off.
Being unconscious is not the same as being dead. While your character is unconscious but alive, the camera stays on your own character and switching to other players is blocked. The mod also preserves PEAK's brief view of your own body after death. Automatic spectating starts once the game allows you to watch someone else.
Controls
Hotkeys work while spectating and are ignored when a menu or the action wheel is open.
| Default key | Action |
| --- | --- |
| R | Toggle player-look mode |
| A | Toggle automatic player selection |
| F | Toggle event framing |
| S | Toggle eased rotation with acceleration and deceleration |
| + / - | Adjust camera tilt for the current mode |
| 9 / 6 | Raise / lower the camera |
| L | Reload the config manually |
Player-look and event framing are alternative camera modes: selecting one replaces the other. Pressing its key again turns that camera mode off. Automatic player selection and eased rotation are separate toggles.
Manually switching players with PEAK's normal controls turns automatic player selection off. Press A to enable it again. Player switching is only available after death and the game's initial view of your own body.
The mode and reload hotkeys can be rebound in the Controls config section. Tilt and height use the fixed keys listed above.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
