ExtraSlots

Eight additional quickslots for Outward DE, displayed as a second bar directly above the vanilla one. No SideLoader dependency — the extra slots are genuine QuickSlot components appended to the game's own quickslot manager, so activation, item housekeeping, and save persistence all ride the vanilla systems.

Controls

The second row mirrors the vanilla bar's key labels: Q E R 1 2 3 4 5.

| Action | Keys |

|---|---|

| Activate an extra slot | Shift + Q / E / R / 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 |

| Assign — move the item from the vanilla slot under that label up to the extra row | Ctrl + Q / E / R / 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 |

Each extra slot sits directly above its vanilla counterpart: Ctrl+Q moves whatever you see under vanilla Q straight up one row, and Shift+Q activates it there.

While Shift or Ctrl is held, the vanilla quickslot keys are suppressed, so Shift+1 won't also fire vanilla slot 1, and Ctrl-assigning an item won't use it.

Details

  • Assignments persist across saves — the extra slots implement the game's own save data interface and are saved with your character.
  • Items are cleanly unregistered from the source slot when moved (no ghost double-registrations).
  • Skill cooldowns, stack counts, and durability render on the extra row exactly like the vanilla bar.
  • Works alongside other BepInEx mods; does not depend on or conflict with SideLoader.

Compatibility

  • Outward Definitive Edition (Mono branch), BepInExPack_Outward 5.4.19.
  • Keyboard-focused: extra slots are triggered by keyboard chords. Gamepad players can still see the row, but no gamepad bindings are provided (yet).

Changelog

1.0.0

  • Initial release: 8 extra quickslots, second HUD row, Shift-activate / Ctrl-assign.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.

Install these first, or the mod will not work:
