Its Late Somewhere
Shows everyone's local time under their name, so you know when to say goodnight instead of keeping your 3 AM friend up for "one more pomodoro".
About this mod Machine translation
It's Late Somewhere
*It's 5 o'clock somewhere. It's also 3 AM somewhere — and that somewhere is the person who's been
"just finishing one more pomodoro" with you for four hours.*
It's Late Somewhere is a BepInEx mod for On-Together that puts everyone's local time under
their name tag. See a little moon and 02:47 over your study buddy's head? Maybe say goodnight.
Chinese: Display the other person's local time under each person's name. If you see someone on the opposite side still accompanying you at three in the morning, "One more Pomodoro", just let them go to bed.
Japanese: みんなの名前の下に, その人の时时を means します. It’s 3 o’clock before noon and it’s なら, そろそろ「おやすみ」を.
What you get
- A clock under every name — ☀ during their day, ☾ at night, and it goes quiet and dim between
midnight and 6 AM, when they really should be asleep.
- Clocks in the player list too, with the UTC offset: ☀ 14:32 UTC+8.
- F3 hides or shows them all.
How does it know?
| You see | Where it came from | How accurate |
|---|---|---|
| ☾ 02:47 | They have this mod too. Their game shares the timezone of their own computer. | Exact, daylight saving included |
| ☾ ~02:47 | They don't have the mod. The time is a guess from the Location on their ID card ("Tokyo", "Ohio", "Brisbane QLD AUS", 🇯🇵, "UTC+8"…). | Usually right. The ~ means "don't set your watch by it" |
| (nothing) | No mod and no recognisable location. "my bed" is not, sadly, a timezone. | — |
The guesser understands city, state and country names in English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean, flag
emoji, and explicit UTC±N / GMT±N. It follows daylight saving for North America, Europe,
Australia and New Zealand. Big countries default to their busiest zone, so "USA" means New York
time. Players who write their state ("Arizona", "Washington State") get the right one.
Privacy
Only a UTC offset is shared (for example +8), never a city, an IP address or a Steam profile
field. It travels as Steam lobby member data, so players without the mod never see it and the game's
own network traffic is untouched. Don't want to share even that? Set Share my timezone = false.
Settings
The file is BepInEx/config/cn.ontogether.itslatesomewhere.cfg. Changes apply without restarting.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| General > Enabled | true | Master switch |
| General > Toggle key | F3 | Show / hide all clocks |
| Display > 24-hour clock | true | false gives 2:32 PM |
| Display > Show estimates | true | Show the ~ guesses for players without the mod |
| Display > Show on myself | false | Put a clock over your own head too |
| Display > Show in player list | true | Clocks next to names in the player list |
| Display > Text scale | 0.7 | Clock size relative to the name |
| Privacy > Share my timezone | true | Publish your UTC offset to players with the mod |
| Privacy > Timezone override | (empty) | Use +8, -5:30, UTC+9 or a city name instead of your PC's timezone |
Installation
- Install BepInEx for On-Together.
- Install the package through a mod manager, or unzip it into a new folder under BepInEx/plugins.
- Join a room. The clocks appear on their own.
Troubleshooting
- A clock looks wrong. A ~ clock is only a guess from the ID card, so they might be travelling
or have typed their hometown. BepInEx/LogOutput.log lists, for every player, where their time came
from.
- The game froze. Please open an issue and attach BepInEx/ItsLateSomewhere-watchdog.log if it
exists. It records which step was stuck.
Development
Run build.ps1 to compile, using the.NET Framework csc that ships with Windows (C# 5 syntax only),
and package-release.ps1 to build the zip. The repository contains source only. It
does not include the game, its assemblies or a compiled DLL.
It's Late Somewhere is an independent fan project. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by
On-Together or its developers.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- Most mods rely on the game's mod loader — the usual route is a community mod manager (such as r2modman): pick this game, install, and it handles the loader and dependencies.
- For a manual install, put the mod files into the matching Mod / plugins folder inside the game directory.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; mods with listed dependencies need those installed as well.
Install locations vary a lot between mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
