renew

2025.11.16: Updated to adapt to the new items in the Rome map: branches, marbles, statues

2025.11.20: Fixed the bug of incorrect stacking of fishing trophies and potion machines

background

In the default settings, each item (such as iron ingots, meat, weapons, etc.) occupies one space in the backpack, resulting in low backpack space utilization. Players need to frequently use the extra backpack grids provided by the Big Backpack Mod. Backpack management is more difficult than cleaning up their own rooms. Many players even have half of the screen filled with backpack grids. Not only does it make the screen look ugly, it also makes it very difficult to select the items you want. So I was thinking, How to maximize the use of the 11-grid backpack, so I came up with the previous MoreStackSize, but I found that just stacking those things is not enough, I need to be able to stack more items, at least it has to be able to carry the resources from exploring half of the map, so I came up with this Mod. This Mod greatly improves the efficiency of the backpack by allowing one backpack slot to store multiple identical items, making ultimate use of the 11-slot backpack that does not block sight.

Backpack stacking function

This plugin modifies the stack size of the following items:

  • Ore, trophies, bones, furs, flowers, meat, weapons, potions (stacked to 20 by default), which can be modified through the configuration file
  • Fish cages and carpets (these two are special, completely reconstructing the official discard and placement logic so that they also support stacking)

📦 Technical details

  • Stack modification: When the map is loaded, the stack quantity of the specified item is dynamically modified by reading the ItemSO object.
  • Special item handling: The official discard and placement methods have been completely reconstructed for the special behavior of fish cages and carpets, ensuring seamless integration of stacking functions.
  • Compatibility: Compatible with other stacking Mods, such as fish stacking, and the item stacking I have made before, and no conflict with other Mods has been found.

✨ Functional Description

Update

2025.11.16: Added compatibility for new items in the Rome map: branches, marble, and statues.

2025.11.20: Fixed a bug causing incorrect stacking of Fishing Trophies and Potion Brewers.

Background

In default settings, each item (such as iron bars, meats, weapons, etc.) occupies one backpack slot, leading to extremely low backpack space utilization. Players are forced to rely on additional backpack slots provided by other mods, making backpack management even more cumbersome than organizing a real-life room. Many players end up with half their screen filled with backpack slots, resulting in a visually unappealing interface and making it difficult to locate specific items. This inspired the development of the previous "MoreStackSize" mod, but I realized that stacking only certain items was insufficient. To truly handle resource accumulation from extensive map exploration, this mod allows multiple identical items to be stored in a single backpack slot, maximizing the efficiency of the original 11-slot backpack without obstructing the player's view.

Backpack Stacking Features

This mod modifies the stacking limits of the following items:

  • Ores, trophies, bones, pelts, flowers, meats, weapons, potions (default stacking limit: 20 items per slot, configurable via configuration file)
  • Fish tanks and carpets (special cases):

Fully re-implemented official discard and placement logic to enable stacking functionality.

📦 Technical Details

  • Stacking Implementation

Dynamically modifies item stacking limits during map loading by reading ItemSO objects.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. Most mods rely on the game's mod loader — the usual route is a community mod manager (such as r2modman): pick this game, install, and it handles the loader and dependencies.
  3. For a manual install, put the mod files into the matching Mod / plugins folder inside the game directory.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; mods with listed dependencies need those installed as well.

Install locations vary a lot between mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
