- Create a folder called R2Titanfall in your Titanfall2 game directory
- Within this folder, create a folder called packages
- Place the downloaded VanillaPlusCN compressed package into the packages folder and unzip it
- The final file structure should look like this:

mods
NP.VanillaPlus
(i.e. Titanfall2/R2Titanfall/packages/ZhuangFangyi-VanillaPlus-3.0.1/mods/NP.VanillaPlus)

- Add the launch option -northstar -vanilla -profile=R2Titanfall in Steam or EA's Titanfall 2, then launch Titanfall 2 from any launcher (this method is recommended as playtime and achievements are recorded, whereas using a .bat file does not)

- Create a file called R2Titanfall.txt in your Titanfall2 folder and write the following text in it:
NorthstarLauncher.exe -northstar -vanilla -profile=R2Titanfall
- Save and rename it to R2Titanfall.bat
- Double-click R2Titanfall.bat to launch it. If you use this method, open the EA first.
Install & use Install: Northstar client mod
- Install the Northstar client first (the open-source community client for Titanfall 2; its release page provides an installer). It loads the mods.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and put its contents into the Northstar/mods/ folder inside your Titanfall2 directory.
- Start the game through NorthstarLauncher.exe — the console lists the mods it loaded.
Northstar is for private servers and custom content; do not use it to connect to official servers.
