Spider replacer - Slime (prototype)

✨ **A thoughtful mod specially designed for players with arachnophobia! ** Replace the disturbing spider monster in the game with a cute slime appearance, so you can enjoy the game with peace of mind.

---

🎨 Module function

  • **Appearance Replacement**: Replace the Spider Monster model with Slime.
  • **Focus on visuals**: **Only modify the appearance model**, do not change the original sound or animation of the spider.
  • **Phobia Friendly**: Designed to help players with Arachnophobia reduce discomfort in the game.

---

⚠️ IMPORTANT INFORMATION

**Current Status**: This is a **prototype version**.
There is currently no color customization option available** as trying to modify textures will crash the game. The author stated that he will be semi-retired until a solution is found.
**Game Update Warning**: When a patch is released for the game, all mod files may be **reverted to their original versions**. Be sure to **backup** your mod files, or consider using the "loose file loader" method.

---

🛠️ Installation method (choose one from three)

**Please make sure you have completely closed the game before proceeding! **

Method 1: Yumia injection method (recommended to try)

  • Download the `yumia_mod_insert_into_rdb.exe` tool.
  • Put the module's `Fdata/Json` file and the above tools into your "Nioh 3" game `package` folder. Make sure the `root.rdb` and `root.rdx` files are also in this directory.
  • After completion, enter the game's "Picture Book" to see if the spider has turned into a slime. If it's not in the Pokédex, you may need to defeat at least one spider in the "open area" for it to appear.

Method 2: Loose file loader method

If you are using the **Loose File Loader** module, directly placing the `.g1m` file of this module into the module folder may also work.

Method three: RDB injection method (slowest)

**IMPORTANT**: This method replaces the original game files. In the sixth step, **Please be sure to extract the original file as a backup**. Otherwise if the mod causes game issues, you will have to re-verify game file integrity via Steam**.

  • Download the **RDBExplorer** tool (requires .NET 8 environment).
  • Place the RDBExplorer folder in the game installation directory.
  • Download this module and place it anywhere.
  • Run `RDBExplorer.exe`, click `File/Open`, find `root.rdx` in the game `package` folder and open it.
  • Search for the file hash `0x0DDE5DE5` in the search bar at the top.
  • Right-click the file, select `INSERT NEW DATA`, and then replace it with this module file.
  • Go into the game guide to check if it works (again, you may need to defeat a spider first).

---

💡 Technical Notes

  • **RDBExplorer** is the primary tool for extracting and re-injecting game models.
  • If you want to modify the model, you will also need Blender plugins (such as `g1m_exporter` and `-ft2 addon`) to process `.g1m` files.
  • Overall, the modification method is similar to the `3dmigoto/blender` tool process used in "Nioh 2", except that there are fewer convenient functions or the need to write an `.ini` configuration file.

I hope this mod will allow you to experience the world of "Nioh 3" more comfortably! If you encounter any problems, please feel free to discuss them on the mod page.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
