In fact, SpecialK is not necessarily needed, but SpecialK can solve some inexplicable problems in the game, so it is recommended to install it (SpecialK is included in the compressed package)

Installation method

Put "dinput8.dll" and "dinput8.ini" into the game's main directory (for example: steamapps\common\NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139)

Configuration

In the "dinput8.ini" file, you can set the upper limit of the number of frames yourself, the default is 120

Settings in SpecialK

When using SpecialK, press `Ctrl+Shift+Backspace` in the game to open the `SpecialK` menu, then switch to `Settings`, `enable framerate limit (enable framerate limit)` and then set the upper limit of the number of frames you need

In `advanced settings`, make sure `sleepless window` and `render thread` are checked

Known issues

Player direction adjustment is broken, this mostly affects slow-walk feature. Issue under investigation.

UI elements still animate at 60 FPS with no smoothing/interpolation.

Mouse sensitivity seems to be somewhat affected by framerate.

If you use SpecialK and the controller cannot operate, you need to set it in the `dxgi.ini` file.
