Popup Reducer
A BepInEx mod for Mycopunk that shrinks item upgrade popups and shifts them for a cleaner HUD.
Features
- Scales upgrade popups to 50% size
- Shifts popups 200px to the right so they sit better on screen
- Toggleable via config (enabled by default)
- Hot-reloads config while the game is running
Getting Started
Dependencies
- Mycopunk (base game)
- BepInEx 5.4.2403 or compatible (e.g. BepInExPack_Mycopunk)
Building
- Clone this repository
- Open the solution in Visual Studio, Rider, or your preferred C# IDE
- Build in Release mode to produce the.dll
Alternatively, use the.NET CLI:
dotnet build --configuration Release
The project targets netstandard2.1. Harmony is provided by BepInEx at runtime.
Installing (recommended)
- Install with a mod manager
- The mod is placed in the correct plugins directory automatically
Manual installation
- Place PopupReducer.dll in /BepInEx/plugins/
Running
The mod loads automatically through BepInEx when the game starts. Check the BepInEx console for a load confirmation
message.
Configuration
Settings live in:
/BepInEx/config/sparroh.popupreducer.cfg
| Option | Default | Description |
|--------------------|---------|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Enable Reducer | true | When enabled, upgrade popups are scaled to 50% and shifted right by 200px |
Config changes are watched and reloaded automatically while the game is running. Edit and save the file; the next popup
update applies the new value (including currently visible popups). Disabling restores normal popup scale.
Help
- Mod not loading? Verify BepInEx is installed correctly and check console logs for errors
- Popups not resizing? Confirm Enable Reducer is true and that upgrade popups are appearing in-game
- UI looks wrong with other mods? Check for conflicts with other HUD/UI mods

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- Most mods rely on the game's mod loader — the usual route is a community mod manager (such as r2modman): pick this game, install, and it handles the loader and dependencies.
- For a manual install, put the mod files into the matching Mod / plugins folder inside the game directory.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; mods with listed dependencies need those installed as well.
Install locations vary a lot between mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
