AimAssist

Cold War Zombies-style controller aim assist for Mycopunk. Rotational pull activates when you're strafing or ADSing — no need for your reticle to already be on the enemy. Includes slowdown, rotational magnetism, and a fast ADS snap. Gamepad only — keyboard/mouse is untouched. Configured via ModSettingsMenu (F10).

What it does

Mycopunk barely helps controller players aim — the only built-in assist is a slight look-speed slowdown while your crosshair is already on an enemy. This mod replaces that with three layers:

  • Slowdown — your look speed eases off near an enemy, so small stick movements land more precisely. Releases quickly when you come off the target.
  • Rotational assist — activates when you're moving (strafing) or holding Aim, as long as an enemy is within 40° of your crosshair. The camera gently follows the target. Stops immediately when you look away or the enemy dies — no persistent drift.
  • Snap — pressing Aim gives a fast, light pull toward the nearest enemy. Eases out as it arrives, with a short cooldown to prevent spam. Skips line-of-sight so thin geometry doesn't block it.

The assist is strongest up close and fades out with distance. It only ever helps you toward a target — it will not lock your aim or aim for you (see Fairness).

Installation

  • Install BepInExPack_Mycopunk.

Usage

Configuration

| Setting | Default | Description |

|---|---|---|

| Enabled | true | Turn the aim assist on or off. |

| Strength | 100 | Overall strength as a percent of the default feel (0 = off, 100 = default; live). |

| Distance | 60 | Range in metres the assist reaches — full strength up close, fading to nothing by this distance (10 to 150, live). |

Fairness

Client-side, and only affects your own aim. The rotational assist needs line of sight (except for the snap), so it can't help with enemies you can't see. It's hard-capped so it can only nudge the camera, never whip it around, and it always stops short of the target — the last bit of aim is always yours. It can't lock on and it can't aim for you, at any setting.

Requirements

  • Mycopunk
  • BepInExPack_Mycopunk
  • ModSettingsMenu by Sparroh (required for in-game config editing)

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. Most mods rely on the game's mod loader — the usual route is a community mod manager (such as r2modman): pick this game, install, and it handles the loader and dependencies.
  3. For a manual install, put the mod files into the matching Mod / plugins folder inside the game directory.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; mods with listed dependencies need those installed as well.

Install locations vary a lot between mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
