About this mod Author’s original text
SlowHunger
SlowHunger lets you choose how long the hunger bar lasts by reducing or disabling only Muck's natural hunger drain. Food, health, stamina, combat, and other survival mechanics are not modified.
In-game configuration
Open Settings > Gameplay > Hunger duration and choose one of these presets:
| Preset | Natural hunger drain |
| --- | --- |
| Vanilla — 1x | Normal |
| 1.25x | 20% less |
| 1.5x | 33% less |
| 1.67x | 40% less |
| 2x | 50% less |
| 2.5x | 60% less |
| 3x | 67% less |
| 4x | 75% less |
| 5x | 80% less |
| 10x | 90% less |
| 20x | 95% less |
| Infinite | No natural hunger drain |
The default for a fresh installation is 1.67x — 40% less drain.
Changes are saved immediately. Existing custom values are shown as a temporary Custom preset and are not overwritten just by opening the menu.
Configuration file
You can also edit:
BepInEx/config/com.sillas.muck.slowhunger.cfg
The DrainMultiplier setting accepts values from 0.00 to 2.00:
- 1.00 = vanilla drain
- 0.25 = 4x duration / 75% less drain
- 0.00 = infinite / no natural hunger drain
The configuration file remains functional even if the optional settings UI cannot be created.
Compatibility
- Uses Terrain's SettingsApi and BetterSettingsApi for the in-game control.
- Includes a compatibility adjustment for MuckSaveGame's Auto Save setting so both controls occupy separate rows.
- Does not edit save files.
Installation
Install with r2modman or Mod Manager. Manual installation is also supported by placing SlowHunger.dll inside BepInEx/plugins together with the dependencies listed in the manifest.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
