Local Map Markers
Local Map Markers lets you place your own markers directly on Muck's map.
MuckSaveGame is optional. The mod works on its own in session-only mode, while installing MuckSaveGame enables marker persistence for saved games.
Marker Types
Six marker types are available:
- House
- Cave
- Village
- Revive
- Boss
- Generic
Controls
- 1–6 — Select marker type
- LMB click — Place the selected marker
- RMB click — Remove the nearest local map marker
- Mouse Wheel — Zoom the map
The selected marker and control guide are shown in the top-left corner while the map is open.
Persistence
With MuckSaveGame
- Markers are associated with the corresponding saved game.
- Loading a save restores its markers.
- Starting a new game with the same seed as an existing save still starts with an empty marker map.
- Saving that new game makes its current markers the persistent marker set for that save.
Without MuckSaveGame
- Local Map Markers still works normally.
- Markers remain available for the current session only.
- They are cleared when the session ends.
Multiplayer
Markers are local to each player and are not synchronized over the network.
Installation
r2modman
Install LocalMapMarkers normally through your mod manager. BepInEx will be installed as a dependency if needed.
Manual Installation
- Install BepInExPack_Muck.
- Place LocalMapMarkers.dll in BepInEx/plugins/LocalMapMarkers.
- Launch Muck.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
