About this mod Machine translation
Add a configurable number of dedicated quick save locations
illustrate
Normally when you do a quick save by pressing "F5" or using the "Save" button in the pause menu, the game overwrites your most recent manual save. This mod changes this behavior so the game will now save to a configurable number of dedicated quicksave files. When the maximum number of quick saves is reached, the files will be rotated and the oldest files will be overwritten. By default, this number is 3, but it can be easily changed in the file BetterQuicksaveConfig.xml located in the ModuleData folder.
Install
Place the BetterQuicksave folder into your Modules folder in your game installation directory. Or use Vortex. After that, just activate the mod in the game launcher.
Uninstall
You can remove/disable the module without problems. Your quicksave file will be retained and treated by the game as a normal manual save. If you reinstall/re-enable the module, it will recognize any saves previously made by the module (or any saves named quicksave_XXX).
Configuration
The configuration file is located here:
[Game Install Location]/Modules/BetterQuicksave/ModuleData/BetterQuicksaveConfig.xml
Change <MaxQuicksaves>3</MaxQuicksaves> to any number you want. Please note that each save file is approximately 50MB and will grow larger as the game progresses.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
