Comment!

"This mod is so bad. You ruined 1257. That's not true at all! Darth Vader and chuck norris? What does wtf have to do with 1257?" - History Snobbery

"You made darth vader so overwhelming I broke my keyboard! I loved it so much!" - a child

"I loved it! Before it was so easy! Now it's a real challenge with a lot of strategy!" - Josh Bagins, a good friend

"*screamed by a bunch of words, unable to understand*" - Rampant Child

"Did you get permission for this?"

""The reason I hate submods is because it makes people download it instead of playing the original version. If people do my mod no one will play what I created" - chat user of a certain site. I think that speaks for itself.

(Major Update) - Requires major all-in-one mod - Novgorod replaces the Bearer of the Ring with a Lord of the Rings-themed faction with the Dark Lord Sauron as king. He is the god here! Get ready for a very tough battle with this faction!

(Another minor update 1.1.2 on February 28, 2014) ...glorifies Daravid (leader of the Galactic Empire) since his preference is a bit weak. He should be a super tough challenge, not a wimp who dies before reaching the castle walls. A final boss adds a huge challenge to the game (1257 and War were too easy for me, so I wanted to increase the challenge. The Galactic Empire, though starting with War... should be hard to beat. However, the Norman Dutch, the Kingdom of Cicilia, and the Roman Empire didn't push either.)

I also lowered Genghis Khan's agility because he was a bit fast for me. )

(Minor update to the Galactic Empire in the integration changes (1.1.1)... makes the Galactic Empire at war with all other factions. If you don't want that, use the old version 1.1)

Added a change (latest update), a more fantasy approach, adding the Galactic Empire to 1257... Darth Vader and a few others replacing the previous Navarrae. :) If using English submod to see the full changes, make sure to include the en folder.

Other changes include previous changes to the Crusader States Replacer and the Papal States Replacer.

Major balancing of horses (many with realistic impact...without hitting a small farmer and keeling and dying.)...many horses can now pass troops without stopping because you hit a farmer! Like in the movie King of Lords! More interesting, more realistic or not. Not all horses can be modified appropriately, so some are more powerful than others. This is only 99% complete.

Balanced Javelin...still powerful, but much slower and not overly powerful like a god. If they hit you, you die... but throwing them in the air is much faster. Also makes it able to carry more javelins (30 is base) so you don't run away after a few throws.

The balanced crossbow...is no longer useless junk. About being as useful as a bow. Better defensively than bows and arrows, which have better uses in open and crossbows and are less effective in offensive sieges. This is much better and makes both bows and crossbows useful. Bolts can hold more.

This is change. A few other minor changes and additions, not everything is complete. But this mod is 99% complete. Just to do some balancing, and any other major faction changes I decide on later (if anything it will be with Novgorod

Guide/Tips

Here is a short "guide" for each new faction (Roman Empire) already in the game, but they have a lot of changes)

Kingdom of Silesia - The most powerful lord overall in the new faction, with a mix of very powerful units and very weak units (compared to the "new" units)

Roman Empire - New faction with the weakest lord, but by far the strongest unit (lacks variety though)

Dutchmen of Normandy - by far the strongest king in the new faction, above average and average lords, strong unit …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
