"The Wheel of Time turns..."
The Gathering Storm is a mod based on Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. It strives to capture the essence of an epic fantasy story while retaining the open-ended feel of Mount and Blade.
This is a Beta version, which means there are still hundreds of areas that can be improved. Please try it out and share any feedback.
Feature list:
Time Map Outline - Expanded in 0.2.7 to include Seanchan, Sea Folk Isles, Shara and the Land of the Madmen.
- 28 factions including all nations and city-states, plus several others you should recognize.
- Extensive troop tree including all political regions featured in the series.
-170 days of forced diplomacy, following general events in the series. After 170 days, diplomacy reverted to the universal Mount and Blade.
-Aes Sedai will spawn gatekeepers. The Sultan gave birth to Daman. Asha'man spawns captured Aes Sedai.

-Channeling System includes 14 unique weaves.

- As your character advances in the Five Forces skills, the power of the Known Weave changes. (Air, Water, Spirit, Fire and Earth) Channels
System basics:
All braids bring endurance into the channel. The HUD bar will show the remaining stamina. Stamina regenerates based on intelligence and communication abilities, and has a maximum number of abilities based on Channel Affinity skills, intelligence, and communication abilities. You can switch the weave by pressing "Caps-Lock" and selecting the weave with the mouse. To see what plays out as a channel, try custom/quick play using Rand or Nynaeve as a character. To become a lane in a solo sport, be sure to select the childhood option "Newbie or Wild" if you are female, or "Wilder" if you are male.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
