Pre-Battle Orders and Deployment v0963 beta pre-battle deployment
Native Warband 1.143's combat and tactics mod expands pre-battle tactical options... and includes many in-battle optional features.
Now there is a real deployment phase - sector positioning before battle!
Requires Warband Script Enhancer 2.8.1, included with installer
If running Warband 1.15x, you will also need to download the 1.15x "Compatibility Patch" and install it after installing Diplo + PBOD.
An improved version of this hotfix was uploaded on August 13, 2012 and does not require any additional work other than installation and normal use of the shortcut.
New features in v0.96
Custom Battle is fully functional with PBOD capabilities; Mod Options are accessible from the Custom Battle designer screen and quick tickboxes to enable all major PBOD battle features
New Order: Deploy/Restore Pavise Shield.
Players can deploy/restore the pavise shield by pressing H (configurable in mod options)
New Order: Crouch.
Players can crouch by pressing Caps Lock (configured in the mod options).
New order: Ignite the rocket.
Players can light arrows by pressing H (configurable, using the pavise key, in the mod options)
New orders are all integrated into the order panel, based on F7 attack orders and F8 special orders
AI special order options broken down in a specific order: new options to enable/disable AI to support braces, skirmishes, volley shots and deploy pavise/crouch (rockets are currently only being tested by player teams)
Bugfix for timing during pre-battle positioning/actual deployment phase. A configurable timescale has been added to the mod options if players are still having issues, but they shouldn't.
New "info page"/in-game documentation for pre-battle planning and battle tactics. See Notes->Game Concepts
Added optional key-controlled rotation, DeathCam for free mouse operations, and new command message on DeathCam startup
Now includes some native bugfixes - fixed some issues with lord dialogue and marshal system
Bugfixes for formations, especially drift in player position generation and some player zone formation.
Fix for new partition flags: they are reactivated
Some code reworked here and there and other minor bugfixes
New features in v0.95:
Pre-battle positioning/real deployment now available!
When starting a battle with pre-battle orders or maintaining the "Battlefield" option, you can place your troops using "Press F1 Flag" before the battle begins (this can be turned off in the mod options menu). Follow the in-game instructions to give the formation command (e.g. Formation Type or Closer/Expand) before placing the partition, and then apply the F1 flag when placing the partition.
Pre-battle movement commands (+/- 10 steps, formation, spread/stand closer)
Now 'preempt' when spawning. There may be some reshuffling, but this will be greatly accelerated during the start formation process.
Pre-combat orders are now available for activated "alternative" sectors
Divide force types into secondary departments
No more need to log battle sizes via mod options (thanks WSE)
Shield bash makes keys mappable. “Defense” also needs to be brought down.
Some bugfixes (mainly custom cameras and splitting departments)
New features in v0.91:
Shield Bash added
Compiled with ModMerger, so test it
Some minor bugfixes
New in v0.90:
Animated and functioning spear supports
AI uses special attack commands (clash mode, spear support, volley shot)
Ability to split the same troop type into two divisions!
Fully mappable keys
Ability to use deployment options in Siege
New 'in between' combat AI, using native AI, but with formations

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
