About this mod Machine translation

Men_at_Arms_v2.0 Armor

OSP project pack, containing some armor intended for missile and infantry type units. They are best suited for Rhodok/Swadian crossbowmen and infantry, or mods for 14th/15th century Western European infantry. The heavier armor version of this armor is also suitable for poorer knights or their amulets.

This is an update of the original packaging from 2012, but mostly redone from the ground up. The models are very modular so certain parts can be rearranged in openBRF to create the exact configuration of armor you want. I haven't included every permutation and every color version of every item because it would have become overwhelming, but for those who are more enterprising, the options are out there.

Most projects should be suitable for Native.

Disclaimer: These polymer counts are much higher than most Native models. I've had no issues playing the SP on high settings on a non-gaming laptop with over 100 soldiers wearing this thing, but some may notice a hit in performance.

In this OSP: body:

-14th or 15th century style brigandine (probably more like the 15th, but I think it's versatile enough to pass into the 14th)

-an aketon /

padded jack -hauberk (I may get it just right one day in alpha/test builds, but if not, then I guess it's better than nothing)

If you're not using the module system, this is what you need to do (if you are, I'm assuming you don't need instructions):

If you haven't done so already, I recommend that you copy the folder "Native" (default path C:\Program Files (x86)\Mount & Blade Warband\Modules\Native) and rename it to whatever you wish to call the new mod. This way you'll always have the default files to recover from errors and still play vanilla if you really hate this stuff.

  • Copy the contents of the Resource and Textures folders in this OSP to the corresponding folders in the mod directory.
  • Open module.ini in your mod folder and use ctrl+f to find the line "load_resource = materials_face_gen". Below that line, add the following two lines:

load_mod_resource = men_at_arms

load_mod_resource = men_at_arms_lods

Save and close the file.

  • Open item_kinds1.txt in the mod folder. On the second line, directly under "itemsfile version 3", increase the number by 45. If no other mods are installed, this number will be 603, so it should be increased to 648.
  • With this file still open, open the file contained in this OSP named item_kinds_entries.txt. Press ctrl+a to select the entire contents of the file, then press ctrl+c to copy them. Go back to item_kinds1.txt, scroll to the very bottom of the file, place your cursor just above the line that starts with "itm_items_end..." and press ctrl_v to paste the line for the new item.

Save and close the file.

  • Play games.

OSP item pack containing some armours meant to be used on missile and infantry type units.   They would be most appropriate on Rhodok/Swadian crossbowmen and infantry, or for mods incorporating 14th/15th century Western European infantry.  The heavier versions of the armour in this pack could also fit on the poorer type of knights or their retainers.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
