Legio II Reworked - Imperium romanum Required Personal Editing Force
Install from your favorite (normal or reduced size) to your Main Imperium romanum folder, you need to start a new game!
This troop tree and party mode is my personal edit of the troop trees and player parties (among other things) that I thought I'd share with anyone who's interested.
For those worried about balance, this is mostly an item mode that gives warriors as few soldiers as possible (unless unavoidable/required, but even then I settled on it)
What this revamped troop tree does:
- Changed all Gladius weapons to only advance
- Change 1 Pilum item up to 2.
- Renamed the Auxilia Brittonum peregrinus that can be upgraded to Legio II Soldiers to Brittonum peregrinus (easier to take them out when you have them as rescued prisoners) and simplified the upgrades they can pass, it also makes it an "alternative" to the "Legio II Soldier Series" (Legio II Augusta) that can be upgraded to LEgio II's mainline (they can be upgraded to Immunis), as well as Centurions and Vexilarius, which means they can be upgraded to their mainline equivalents, if you save prisoners it just means you don't have a cluttered party list)
- Turn Mercenary Captains you can recruit in taverns into Legio II Centurions (since Mercenary Captains can be dispatched in their own party and I'd have to be smart enough in order for regular Centurions to get this option
- Added new units - Optio (just because I imagined a stomping ground between Legions and Centurions) I also added Legio II Equites, Decurions and Draconarius upgraded from the main tree, which isn't historically accurate but just makes it easier in terms of upgrading/recruiting etc.)
-Change the starting inventory player to Centurion Equipment and add a Decurion Shield (if you want a hero to be a Decurion)
- Changed player start party to:(
Normal size) 154 Legio II miles, 2 Legio II Centurions (mercenary captains), 2 Vexilarius, 30 Legio II Equites
(Downsized) 78 Legio II Miles, 1 Legio II Centurion (MErcenary Captain), 1 Vexilarius, 15 Legio II Equites
So that's it, as far as I remember (I spent a long time playing around and tweaking this)
What I would like to do in the future:
Being able to make my newly added Decurion units act like mercenary captains (able to lead teams etc.) Unfortunately I don't really know how to do this, so if someone could tell me how or do it for me that would be great.
Guide to upgrading PAth includes
A note about rescued prisoners: sometimes some of the prisoners you rescue will have similar or identical names (Legio II Aug or Centurions or Vexilarius) I've added "Sidegrade" to these units, which means the cost, whether it's xp or money, you can change them to the same unit you have, just to prevent confusion with troop types. )
Install from whichever you prefer (normal or reduced size) into Your Main Imperium romanum folder, starting a new game is required!
This Troop Tree and party mod is my own personal editing of the troop tree and player parties (among other thigns) for my own preferences, which I thought I'd share with anyone who is interested.
For those worried about balance, this is mostly a item mod for troopers with as little as possible in regards to stat ediing (unless unavoidable/required, but even then I've mnimised it)
What this Reworked Troop Tree does:
- Changes all Gladius weapons to thrust ONLY
- Changes 1 of the Pilum Items to have a max of 2.
- Renames the Auxilia Brittonum peregrinus that can be upgraded into Legio II soldiers to Brittonum peregrinus (makes it easier picking them out when you get them as rescued captives) and simplifies the upgrades they can go through, it also makes it so that the "alternate" line of Legio II Soldiers (Legio II Augusta) can be upgraded into the main line of LEgio II (They can upgrade into Immunis), also does the same to the Centurions and the Vexilarius, meaning they can be upgraded into their main line equivilants, it simply m …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
