Leather Jerkin Replacer leather replacement
limited and credit
This little Osp replaces the vanilla game Leather Jerkin with a different model. Its shape is more consistent with late medieval and Renaissance jerkins--
This model uses the same material and texture as the standard leather jerkin (ragged_leather_jerkin.dds), so any retexturing will affect it
- The model is still a bit rough, especially the arms. Improvements are expected in future versions
- Installation: Place the .brf file in the Resources directory on the required module. If you want it to affect most mods, add it to the CommonRes folder where the Mount & Blade game is installed. If it asks you then replace any files;
NOTE: For security reasons, the old armor mesh is still in the file, named:
ragged_leather_jerkin
#ragged_leather_jerkin.lod1
#ragged_leather_jerkin.lod2
#ragged_leather_jerkin.lod3
If for some reason you don't like this work and want the old jerkin, just open the file with OpenBrf, remove the # from the grid mentioned above and then delete the following grid:
ragged_leather_jerkin
ragged_leather_jerkin.lod1
ragged_leather_jerkin.lod2
ragged_leather_jerkin.lod3
After this, save the file. Don't worry about any warnings that may appear, it won't screw up your game :)
Regarding the use of other mods: since it is OSP, you are free to modify, restructure and add to any mod you want, as long as:
- You gave it to Jhon Brazil, who did most of the modeling. I put the files together and posted them at his request
- What do you think Fredelios (OSP that contains the mesh for this armor), OpenBrf's Mtarini (for making and assembling the mesh)
This small Osp replaces the vanilla game Leather Jerkin with a different model. It is shaped more in line with late Middle Ages and Renaissance jerkins
-The model uses the same material and texture as the standard leather jerkin (ragged_leather_jerkin.dds) so any retexture will affect it
-The model is still somewhat rough, specially the arms. Expect a improvement on future versions
- Instalation: drop the.brf file inside the Resources directory on the desired module. If you want it to affect most of your mods, add it to the CommonRes folder where your Mount&Blade game is installed. Replace any file if it asks you so;
NOTE: for safety reasons, the meshes for the old armor are still on the file, named as:
ragged_leather_jerkin
ragged_leather_jerkin.lod1
ragged_leather_jerkin.lod2
ragged_leather_jerkin.lod3
If for some reason you don't like the work and want the old jerkin back, just open the file with OpenBrf, remove the # from the meshes mentioned above and then delete the following meshes:
ragged_leather_jerkin
ragged_leather_jerkin.lod1
ragged_leather_jerkin.lod2
ragged_leather_jerkin.lod3
After this, save the file. Don't worry about any warning that may shown up, it will not screw up your game:)
About usage in other mods: Since it is OSP, you are free to modify, retexture and add it to whatever mod you want, as long as:
-You give credits to JhonBrazil, who did most of the modelling. I've simply put the file together and published it, upon his request
-You credit Fredelios (the OSP that contained the mesh for the pants of this armor, Mtarini for OpenBrf (Used to create and assemble the mesh)
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
