Diplomacy Plus Diplomacy

About this mod Machine translation

Diplomacy Plus Diplomacy

This mini mod is basically the start of what I've been working on; basically I like diplomacy, but I just wish there were more options for fleshing out your kingdom's culture - your own culture, custom party trees, etc. Obviously this is a bit longer than the simple pattern I've implemented here. I don't know if I'll find the time to implement this big idea, but this little mod is actually quite fun, so I thought I'd share it.

What it contains:

-6 new companions who are basically intended to be future vassals, but hey, it's your kingdom, do what you want. Most of them can't really stand Klethi or Dashavi; most of them are from Swadia. They're usually honorable people too (you're one of them a cool samurai. He knows what he did in Calradia.

The real appeal of these companions is that you can send them to your fiefdom, and then you don't have to give up the companions you want to keep in your party.

  • A custom troop tree, made for you (and you alone). Once you own a kingdom, your villages will spawn these troops (sometimes taking a day or two to swap out). They are based on the Roman army, and I've added some Roman items and equipment to fit it. No, not even remotely historical, but the goal is to rebuild the empire, and if you're going to do that, why not the whole pig?
  • A few small changes, such as darkening the colors of the khanates (to make it easier to distinguish Vaegirs), (some of the better units in the custom tree are matched) which elite companions come with.

If you're curious about the custom troop tree, the new troops are:

Socius-> Veles

Veles->Hastatius or Auxililium

Hastatius-> Princeps

Princeps-> Centurion OR Equite

Auxilium-> Saggitarius

Saggitarius-> Veteran Saggitarius OR Mounted Saggitarius

Equite- > Cataphractus

These units tend to be slightly stronger than other faction units. If you want more of a challenge, just go into the source and lower it a few levels.

(Source code uploaded separately) ------->

If you hate all the custom armor, I can upload version 1.2 using only native assets.

This mini mod is basically the beginnings of something I've been kicking around; basically I love diplomacy but I just wish there were more options related to fleshing out the culture of your kingdom- your own culture, custom troop trees, etc. Obviously that's a bit longer project than the simple mod I've implemented here. I don't know if I'll find the time to implement the big idea, but the little mod is actually kind of fun, so I thought I'd share it.

-6 new companions, they're basically intended to be future vassals, but hey it's your kingdom, do what you want. Most of them can't really stand Klethi or Dashavi; and most of them are from Swadia. They are also generally honorable fellows (you're not going to want to promote bastards who might turn against you now, right?).One of them is a cool samurai. What he's doing in calradia, who knows.

The real appeal of these companions is that you can send them to your fiefs, and you don't then have to give up companions that you might like to keep around in your party instead.

-A custom troop tree, for you (and you alone). As soon as you own a kingdom, your villages will produce these troops (sometimes it takes a day or two in game to switch). They're based off roman troops, and I've added some Roman items and equipment to fit it out. No, not even remotely historical, but the goal is to re-create the Empire, and if you're going to do it, why not the whole hog?

-a couple little changes like darkening the color of the Khanate (so that it's easier to distinguish from Vaegirs), and upping the body armor value of Mail and Plate (which some of the better units in the custom tree are kitted with) Which one elite companion comes with.

If you're curious about the custom troop tree, the new troops are:

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
