Diplomacy 4.3 - Mrcmod and bugfixes Diplomacy 4.3 bug fixes

This is my personal modification to Diplomacy 4.3. In general, this mod increases the sandbox potential by extending its functionality and adding additional features. I'll try to list everything I can remember:

1.2 Updates and Fixes (Should be compatible with games saved from previous versions)

Fixed an issue where Forsaken Hero Lady could not be accepted as a vassal if they swapped kingdoms;

Npc lords will now exchange fiefdoms with other lords to keep their holdings close to each other;

The impact of tactics on combat advantage has been doubled (players and NPCs);

Hiring companies with commissions less than -5 cannot be hired;

When the player is the ruler of a faction, attacking a neutral/friendly party will cause "casus belli" and/or break any treaties they have

Main features:

12 starters for the Kingdom plus 2 failed due to players moving up if they wanted to. Non-native kingdoms are actually ruled by former Pretenders.

The ability to kill other lords and kings.

Ability to appoint a new king of a player's kingdom. You can then leave, or stay with the faction as a vassal.

Can marry NPC Kings/Queens and become the ruler of the kingdom. It functions similarly to Diplomatic Pretender Marriage, but with some modifications.

2 new faction troop trees - This troop uses items I pulled from Freds' pile of armor.

Mercenary parties can be hired by kingdom leaders. They are native troops from the custom battle mode.

In general, many features regarding managing kingdoms and vassals have been added/expanded/modified.

Bug fixes from Diplomacy and Native games:

Marriage of fixed companions.

Changed to expand support for Kingdom Hero ladies. If their husband/guardian dies, they usually become heroes.

Player copies will no longer spawn as deserters (hopefully).

Fixed some issues regarding player spouses and expanded its functionality.

When a kingdom is defeated, they are properly destroyed and relations with other kingdoms reset. (No eternal war with a losing faction).

Many of the actions players can take to gain negative relations without declaring war on the minister are no longer possible. I may be missing some, but the idea is to not allow player factions to develop negative relationships with other kingdoms without declaring war. (I changed the method of declaring war so you can use the same "excuse" NPCs use).

Minor features and changes

Minister: Change the color of the player's kingdom

Minister: New way to declare war

Minister: Mercenary Company

Minister: Resign from fiefdom

Prisoner: Trial to Death/Bail/Free

Lords/Companions: Get in touch with parties participating in major events, sieges/wars

Lord/Companion: Manage their skills/equipment.

Lords/Companions: Change their reputation/personality.

Items: Some items from Freds' pile of armor.

Project: Changes in how food/morale works. Generally, it's easier to keep morale and your troops fed.

Item: Added many books, one for each skill and attribute. (Removed books that provide +skills when in inventory)

Items: Items can be upgraded by talking to town weapons, weapon smiths, and horse traders.

Combat: Combat is doubled in size. But not a siege, as I felt they could not support more troops. But I increased the size of other stages of the siege.

Combat: When you are not an ally of either side, you can join the battle on any side.

Players: Skill tracking is now used to determine if you can capture a failed lord. At level 10+4 (14) they have no chance of escape.

Players: Changed Persuasion to use Charisma.

Players: Change player party size to work on the same terms as NPC lords/kings.

Players: The Looting skill is now used to determine how quickly a player/lord can loot a village.

Tasks: Changed some native tasks to be less annoying/easier. Furthermore, in general, their rewards are increased.

Quest: Added a new political quest to facilitate marriage between hero lords/ladies, you can get it from the minister or consort. This …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
