Bannerless Tableau Shields Dynamically reconstructed shields
This OSP introduces a number of dynamically reconfigured shields - including Native's Norman shields, which haven't been seen in a long time. In contrast to original tableau shields, they often had designs in the foreground rather than just banners showing the troops which may have been inappropriate. The design is semi-randomized by adjusting the hero's banner offset, but includes presentation to assign fixed designs to player characters and loyal companions. I guess the goal of this project is to add variety without creating duplication of item entries in the troop inventory so as not to unbalance item loot rates or item quantities. Changes should be made to module_items, tableaus, scripts, grids, and optional constants and presentations.

Compared to the original tableau shields, these often feature designs in the foreground instead of merely featuring whatever inappropriate banner the troop might field. The design is semi-randomized by modulating the banner offset for heroes, but a presentation is included to assign a fixed design for the player character & loyal companions. The goal of this project is, I suppose, to add variety without creating duplicates of item entries in troop inventories so as to not unbalance item loot ratios or merchandise quantities. Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
