About this mod Author’s original text
UndoEverywhere
A Monster Train 2 mod that lets you undo out-of-combat mistakes — shop purchases,
event choices, path picks — which the game otherwise offers no undo for.
The pause menu's Restart Battle button now also works on the map, where it
relabels itself Restart Ring. It rewinds the run to the moment the last
battle ended, or to the start of the run if you haven't fought one yet. Battles
you've already won stay won.
The mod snapshots your save at each of those boundaries (a.stagestart file
next to the real save) and restores it through the game's own load path, so gold,
relics, deck and map position all come back as the game itself would load them.
Install
Install SpecialCircumstances-UndoEverywhere with a mod manager (Gale, r2modman,
Mod Manager); dependencies come with it. Manual install: drop
UndoEverywhere.dll into BepInEx/plugins.
Known limitations
- The button is available throughout the first ring, where it rewinds to the
run's start.
- The ring confirmation dialog is English-only; every other language still sees
the vanilla battle wording.
Build
dotnet build
Patches live in UndoEverywhere/patches. Build,
environment and deploy details are in the meta-repo's CLAUDE.md.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- Most mods rely on the game's mod loader — the usual route is a community mod manager (such as r2modman): pick this game, install, and it handles the loader and dependencies.
- For a manual install, put the mod files into the matching Mod / plugins folder inside the game directory.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; mods with listed dependencies need those installed as well.
Install locations vary a lot between mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
