The fluffy fox ears feature two levels of physics, a constantly wagging tail, and can be dyed to match any hair color you have. Replacement for DIREWOLF+waist!

feature

The two-layer physics system on the ears means that the body of the ear moves and doesn't react much to wind, while the tufted hair moves with the wind and reacts more to it

The tail uses highly sensitive physics without going crazy, allowing the tail to constantly react to itself. This gives the appearance of random tail wagging. If it's too many, you'll also have a physics file in the model folder that doesn't wiggle.

The "All Hairstyles" version will remain until the game is completely uncategorized and materials are organized. It's also up to him whether Asterisk is willing to fix the script for this.

"Why is this a waistband and not a helmet?" - I chose the waistband because there are a lot of really nice helmet mods and armor out there that are ear-compatible and look good. By placing it on the waist, you only have to dye the fuzz once, which prevents the tail from catching on the armor and doesn't ruin the tail when the hood is equipped.

Install

Just put the "nativePC" folder into the game root directory

Disable tail wagging

After installing the mod, find "...\Monster Hunter World\nativePC\pl\f_equip\pl105_0000\wst\mod".

Rename "f_wst105_0000.ctc" to "f_wst105_0000_TailWag.ctc".

Rename "f_wst105_0000_NoWagging.ctc" to "f_wst105_0000.ctc".

Author's original text:

Fluffy fox ears with two tiers of physics, a tail that constantly wags, and dyeable hair to match whatever haircolor you have. REPLACES DIREWOLF+ WAIST!

FEATURES

Two-tier physics system on the ears means the main body of the ears move and don't react to wind much, while the tufts of hair follow and react more to wind

Tail uses highly-sensitive physics without going nuts, allowing the tail to continuously react on itself. This gives the appearance of randomized tail wagging. There's also a non-wagging physics file in the model folder if it's too much.

Until the game is completely unchunked and the materials are sorted out, the All-Hairstyles version will be on hold. It's also up to Asterisk whether he's willing to do fix up his scripts for it.

"Why is this a waist piece instead of a helm?" -- I chose the waist because there are a lot of pretty good helm mods and armors out there that are compatible and look good with the ears. By putting it on the waist, you only need to dye the fluff once, it prevents armor clipping with the tail, and mantles do not destroy the tail when equipped.

INSTALLATION

Open the zip folder and copy the nativePC folder inside.

Navigate to your MHW installation folder (where the.exe is located. This is usually in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Monster Hunter World").

Paste the nativePC in there.

DISABLE TAIL WAG

Once the mod is installed, navigate to "...\Monster Hunter World\nativePC\pl\f_equip\pl105_0000\wst\mod".

Rename "f_wst105_0000.ctc" to something else like "f_wst105_0000_TailWag.ctc".

Rename "f_wst105_0000_NoWagging.ctc" to "f_wst105_0000.ctc".

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
