About this mod Machine translation
The goal of this MOD is to correct strange visual effects in Monster Hunter World such as washed out colors, annoying bright highlights, etc. It also adds some additional visual effects to create a more fantasy-like cinematic experience. Here's a breakdown of usage effects:
AmbientLight
Provides some glow and bloom, adjusting the hue of the light based on the color of the screen, basic lens flare
BloomAndLensFlares
Slight bloom effect, lens flare
AdaptiveFog
Very slightly blurs distant terrain. Create a low-performance, subtle pseudo-DOF effect that won't clutter the UI.
Technicolor2, HDR, Clarity, Curves, DPX
Adjust colors and tones to get rid of a washed-out look
EyeAdaption
Helps keep highlights from getting too high that Monster Hunter can hit. It also lights up dark areas as they become almost black, which would otherwise have other effects in this reshape.
FXAA,SMAA
Enable anti-aliasing. FXAA is based on contrast/edges, while SMAA is set to look for color changes. Here's a comparison shot:
LumaSharpen
Bring back texture details obfuscated by FXAA.
The anti-aliasing and sharpening effects also do a great job of making up for the flickering effect introduced by the low texture resolution solution mod.
I've included 3 presets - Low, Regular and Extra. Extras include reflection bump mapping and MXAO, while low intensity has some effects turned off to improve FPS.
For reference, my GTX 1060 gets 50-60fps on the regular, 70-90 on the low, and 40-50 on the extra.
I also set up a border effect to create a slight cinematic letterboxing, not enough to cover the UI. This effect is disabled by default.
Install:
Extract the presets to the Monster Hunter World folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Monster Hunter World\)
from
Select Clarity, Colorfulness, Curve and EyeAdaptation as effects/shaders
Open MHW using the Direct3D 10+ option. Once opened, press Shift + F2 to open the reset menu.
Select Fine-Tuned Fantasy.ini (or "Fine-Tuned Fantasy - Extra.ini" or "Fine-Tuned Fantasy - Low.ini") from the drop-down menu
The goal of this mod is to correct the strange visuals of Monster Hunter World such as the washed out colors, obnoxiously bright highlights, etc. It also adds a few extra visual frills to create a more fantasy-like, cinematic experience. Here is a breakdown of the effects used:
AmbientLight
Provides some glow and bloom, adjusts the tone of the light depending on the color of the screen, basic lens flares
BloomAndLensFlares
Slight bloom effect, lens flares
AdaptiveFog
Very slightly blurs far away terrain. Creates a subtle pseudo-DOF effect that is low performance and won't mess up the UI.
Technicolor2, HDR, Clarity, Curves, DPX
Adjust the color and tone, gets rid of the washed out look
EyeAdaption
Helps keep the highlights from reaching the excessive highs that they can hit in Monster Hunter. Also brightens up dark areas, since they become nearly pitch black otherwise with the other effects in this reshade.
FXAA, SMAA
Makes the anti-aliasing actually work. The FXAA goes based on contrast/edges, while the SMAA is set to look for color changes. Here's a comparison shot:
LumaSharpen
Brings back the texture detail muddied up by FXAA.
The anti-aliasing and sharpen effects also nicely compensate for the shimmering hair effect that the Low Texture Resolution Workaround mod introduces.
I've included 3 presets - low, regular, and extra. The extra has reflective bump mapping and MXAO, while the low has some of the effects turned off for improved FPS.
For reference, my GTX 1060 gets 50-60fps with the regular version, 70-90 with the low, and 40-50 with the extra.
I've also set up the Border effect to create a slight cinematic letterboxing, not enough to cover the UI. This effect is disabled by default.
Just download the zip file and drop the ini files into the monster hunter install directory (be sure reshade is installed as well). Then use the reshade UI to select the preset you want to use.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
