Enemy spawn radius mod
Changed the distance at which random enemy groups stop spawning players who kill members.
Snipe on me: Really not worth it for me. Firstly, even sniper rifles don't have a very long engagement range (although this has been partially fixed, e.g. here: Andromeda Firearms Rebalanced).
The bigger problem though is the second one: slain enemies simply respawn when random enemy-camps come a relatively short distance from outside. This makes it impossible to dispatch enemy groups from as far away as 45 meters away!
This mod changes the fenced area from 45 meters to 250 meters where all enemy groups spawn. It also increases the combat area from 22.5 meters to 200 meters, but I'm not sure if that's actually the distance enemies are allowed to venture from their spawn locations*.
The version uploaded here is still labeled alpha2, as it is actually the second version I created while testing a few different radius settings along with the previously mentioned rebalance mode.
What happens when using this mod:
Able to kill enemies in the wild from further away
Occasionally enemy groups will attack different enemy camps near them, and eventually one group will even kill another - especially on Havre.
I haven't taken this mode through many story missions yet, though I haven't encountered any outstanding issues or unusual behavior so far.
- It should be, for example, that the remnant of Havarl disappears near the specified distance in order to respawn at its original location. On the other hand, the Kett on Eos (especially the Anointed), for example, often ventured beyond this distance to attack my test Ryder.
The mod's project files are included in the zip file.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
