VR Shader Fix
Replaces Supported Materials and Shaders with VR Compatiable Versions
About this mod Author’s original text
VR Shader Fix (Beta Release)
A BepInEx plugin that replaces supported shaders with VR‑compatible versions to fix visual issues in VR.
Only supported shaders are replaced.
Important:
Custom shaders are not automatically fixable.
- Shader Graph shaders must be recompiled with the VR package included in the creator’s Unity project.
- Hand‑written.shader files must be manually updated by the author to include proper VR support (multi‑pass setup, correct stereo macros, VR‑safe lighting paths, etc.).
This plugin cannot automatically convert or repair custom shader code.
Features
- Replaces supported shaders with VR‑compatible variants
- UI, Decals, Particles, MeshRender, Etc (All materials get shaders replaced)
Changes
- Refactored the code
- Removed scene blacklisting — the new system makes it useless
- Replacement now works correctly on animators (previously known to fail in several cases)
To‑Do
- Add support for more common shaders used by everyone
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
