TERMINAL THAT CAN KILL
Author: Solo00n
The ship and facility doors slam shut on anyone in the doorway, and the terminal stops disabling traps — it detonates mines and drives turrets berserk instead.
WHAT IT DOES
- Deadly ship door — the hangar door crushes any player or monster standing in the opening when it closes (on the surface only).
- Deadly facility doors — the big terminal-code security doors crush whoever is in the opening when they slam shut.
- Remote mine detonation — entering a mine code blows it up instead of disabling it; a critical error chain-detonates nearby mines.
- Turret rampage — entering a turret code sends it berserk (spins and fires at everyone); a critical error extends the rampage.
- Hijacked traps — a trap can flip to your side: an allied turret behaves like a normal turret but cannot see players, and hunts monsters instead, and an allied mine can no longer be set off by the team and waits for a monster instead.
- Turret head flip — after leaving berserk a turret smoothly turns its head 180° and rests facing the opposite way.
- Barber-style death — door kills reuse the Barber (Clay Surgeon) death: the body is launched up and ragdolls.
- Fully configurable — every mechanic can be tuned or turned off.
HOW IT WORKS
- The kill zone is a thin oriented slab sitting in the doorway plane, not a proximity sphere — only someone standing in the opening is caught.
- Ship door: detected via doorPower < 1 plus the ShipDoorClose animator state; the doorway is at a fixed world position (the ship never moves).
- Facility doors: detected on the SetDoorOpen open→closed transition and processed frame by frame.
- Traps use the vanilla synced RPCs (ExplodeMineServerRpc, EnterBerserkModeServerRpc) — no custom network objects.
- Trap power is never forced, so power mods such as DefendFacility stay in charge of whether a trap is on; this mod only changes who it targets. Its mini turret is treated as the crew's own and is allied from the start.
MULTIPLAYER (HOST-AUTHORITATIVE)
Both the host and all clients must install the mod. It changes shared game rules, not one player's private state.
Players: each client only kills its own local player; KillPlayer syncs that death to everyone, so exactly one authoritative kill happens.
Monsters: only the host iterates and kills enemies (the host owns enemy AI), which syncs to clients.
Traps: mine and turret effects fire through the game's own server RPCs, so all clients see the same result.
Hijacks: the client that typed the code decides, then announces it on a vanilla RPC carrying a marker only this mod sends; everyone else obeys that marker and never rolls again, so no one can disagree — still no custom networking.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
