SimpleHUD

Simple numeric readouts for health, stamina, carry weight and held-item battery, for Lethal Company (BepInEx 5). Current version: 1.1.0.

Features

  • Health & stamina numbers: health as XX HP (color shifts from green to red as health drops), stamina as XX% SP (bright yellow when full, fading through gray to black when depleted). The stamina line also carries the carry-weight text one line below it.
  • Carry weight: shown as XX lb, kept in sync with the vanilla weight counter.
  • Battery percentage: shown above the health line by default while holding a battery-powered item (flashlight, walkie-talkie, zap gun, etc.). It reuses the vanilla battery source and disappears when the player is empty-handed or holds an item without a battery.
  • Hide vanilla elements individually: the vanilla health bar, stamina bar, battery icons, weight counter and damage red flash can each be hidden independently from the [Hide] settings. The tool slot sidebar is always kept visible.
  • More customization: adjust the whole number block's position ([Texts] PosOffsetX/Y) and the stamina text color (RGB).
  • Can be completely disabled: set HideSimpleHUD = true to hide every SimpleHUD number (battery, health, stamina, weight) while leaving the vanilla HUD untouched — and while SimpleHUD numbers are off, the vanilla weight counter stays visible so weight info is never lost.
  • Optional fade-out: with AlwaysShowNumbers = false, a health/stamina value that reaches 100 fades out over 5 seconds and returns as soon as it drops below 100 (weight and battery never fade).

Installation

No compilation needed — just drop the pre-built SimpleHUD.dll into BepInEx/plugins/SimpleHUD/ and start the game. Requires BepInExPack 5.4.2305 or later.

Configuration

Config file: BepInEx/config/SimpleHUD.cfg. Visibility options apply on the next frame; position/color changes apply immediately.

| Section | Setting | Default | Description |

| --- | --- | --- | --- |

| General | AlwaysShowNumbers | true | true: numbers always fully visible. false: a value at 100 fades out over 5 seconds and returns when it drops below 100. Health and stamina fade independently; weight/battery never fade. |

| Hide | HideSimpleHUD | false | Completely hide all SimpleHUD numbers. Vanilla elements are unaffected (each has its own Hide setting). |

| Hide | HideVanillaHealthBar | true | Hide the vanilla health bar (Self). Also suppresses the damage red flash. |

| Hide | HideVanillaStaminaBar | true | Hide the vanilla stamina bar (SprintMeter). |

| Hide | HideVanillaBatteries | true | Hide the vanilla battery icons (Batteries/BatteriesOff). |

| Hide | HideVanillaWeight | true | Hide the vanilla weight counter text while SimpleHUD numbers are shown (weight is displayed by SimpleHUD below stamina). Kept visible when HideSimpleHUD is on. |

| Texts | PosOffsetX | 50 | Horizontal offset (px) of the numbers from the base position. Positive = right. |

| Texts | PosOffsetY | 120 | Vertical offset (px) of the numbers from the base position. Positive = up. |

| Texts | StaminaColorR/G/B | 1 / 0.9 / 0.15 | Stamina text color RGB channels (0-1). Default bright yellow. |

Changelog

1.1.0 — click to expand

  • Ships a pre-compiled SimpleHUD.dll — installing no longer requires building the source yourself.
  • Added carry weight (XX lb) display below the stamina number.
  • Added a battery percentage line for held battery-powered items; it appears above the health line by default.
  • More customization: independent hide toggles for each vanilla element, position offsets and stamina color channels.
  • The whole mod can now be completely disabled with HideSimpleHUD (battery/health/stamina/weight numbers all hidden, vanilla HUD preserved).
  • Source consolidated into a single.cs file for easier maintenance.

1.0.0 — click to expand

  • Initial release: health & stamina numbers with optional full-value fade-out, vanilla health/stamina/battery/weight hiding, position and color options.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
