About this mod Author’s original text

remove_annoying_sounds

this mod does NOTHING until change the config!! >> soundpack.remove_annoying_sounds.cfg

please remember that this is a CLIENTSIDE mod and only affects YOU

depending on what YOU choose to mute you may be playing with less info! dont complain!

monsters that can hear (like dogs) are never affected by this mod and YOUR config choices

if you are having issues, please trying deleting the config file and the starting the game again to make a fresh one! updates may break it unfortunately

if you have feedback, leave it here. ill get back asap, however it doesnt mean ill check it.

current options

enemies

  • butler hostile music

why is it so loud, why is it global??

  • old bird hostile noises

the baby crying and annoying ass music

  • old bird alarm

the constant alarm that plays when its trying to kill, not nearly as annoying as the baby, but option is here

  • tulip snake idle noises

you can still hear it jump at you and flapping its wings, but the idle noises when its on your head will be gone

scrap

  • tinnitus

the ear ringing sound that plays whenever you fire the shotgun, get flashbanged, or are too close to an explosion

  • apparatus hum

the constant hum the apparatus plays. especially annoying when the game bugs and it happens constantly in ship

  • airhorn
  • clown horn
  • phone "call"

the call only happens when you switch to it in your hotbar, not when picking up the phone

  • robot toy
  • teeth chattering

ship

  • ambient ship squeaks

including that awful one that plays every 5 seconds in orbit. but also the more subtle ones when your on a planet

  • all ship intercom messages

ui

  • the headache inducing main menu music
  • player scan sound

you can still hear the scrap value counter hud element when scanning scrap

  • meteor hud weather alert

as if this scary ass tone doesnt haunt me in real life, it just had to be in this game too:(

fun

  • bracken neck snap

the bracken can take your friends without you hearing a thing

  • jesters music

the crank is still audible if your close enough

  • mask item equip

the laughing sound that plays when the mask attached to your face

reminder that this mod is only client side, so if you have this enabled and your friends dont, they can still hear the mask being put on

currently planned sounds to change if possible

  • (scrap) potentially REVERT bell sound
  • not mute, but an option to put it back to what it was
  • (tools?) new section
  • that sound that happens when people spam the walkie talkie
  • radar booster ambient noise and or ping (hello sound effect)
  • spray paint use sound

thing(s) i probably wont add

  • muting/lowering the volume of the tv, boombox, cruiser radio. these sounds are also important to know if they are constantly playing for dog purposes. try these mods instead
  • ObjectVolumeController - allows for tv and boombox volume control
  • CruiserVolumeControl - allows for volume change of the cruiser

compatibility?

compatability with other soundapi mods is unknown right now. i have no idea how it handles conflicting sound replacements. if you are wanting to disable a sound from a different soundapi dependent pack, see if their config has an option as this mod is only tested with no other soundpacks

unfortunately this mod does not work seem to work with lethalconfig, soundapi itself would need to add that as a feature, i wouldnt know how

youll have to manually edit the config file "soundpack.remove_annoying_sounds.cfg"

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.

Dependencies

Install these first, or the mod will not work:
