Random Events Extended
Adds a rich layer of random round events, ambient horror and quality-of-life
shopping to Lethal Company — built to feel like part of the base game, not a
bolted-on gimmick. Fully multiplayer-synced: host and clients always see the
exact same events, weather and loot values.
✨ Features
🎲 65 random events, every round
Three events are rolled each round (weather / loot / monsters) from a pool of
65 hand-tuned events — meteor showers, monster invasions, eclipses, golden
loot days, cursed scrap, "only one monster type" rounds, and more. Selection is
weighted by rarity (Good / Neutral / VeryBad / Insane), respects per-event
cooldowns and recent history, and is fully deterministic — every client
sees identical events with zero extra network traffic.
👻 Paranoia & horror ambience
Every 30–60 seconds a random monster's sound plays near a random player at a
believable nearby spot, and a couple of nearby doors creak open — pure
atmosphere, no real danger, just the feeling that something is watching.
Works for all players in the lobby — vanilla (unmodded) clients hear the sounds
too, since paranoia audio is sent via the game's built-in Netcode.
54 built-in procedural horror sounds — slow breathing, footsteps on wood/
metal/concrete, floor creaks, heartbeats, low rumbles, water drips, wind gusts,
scratching, distant bangs, and whispers. All gentle and atmospheric — no jump
scares. Drop your own.ogg.wav files into
BepInEx/plugins/RandomEvents/Sounds/ to add them to the pool.
🛒 Terminal shops
Buy ammo (shells ) and a shotgun (boomstick ) straight from
the terminal — orders go through the normal company buy flow and arrive by ship
like any regular purchase (lobby host completes the order).
⚙️ Deep LethalConfig integration
Every single event can be individually enabled or disabled, rarity weights and
cooldowns are tunable, and one "event monster-power scale" slider lets you dial
the intensity of monster-affecting events up or down globally — instead of
fighting two dozen separate sliders.
🧰 Everything else
- Bounty system with in-terminal status tracking
- Surprise mid-round effects
- Weather events stay visually in sync for ALL clients, not just the host
- Softer, semi-transparent server chat messages that don't shout over normal chat
📋 Requirements
All players in the lobby must install this mod. The mod uses custom network
messages to sync events, paranoia sounds and loot values between all clients.
- BepInEx — installed automatically as a dependency
- LethalConfig — installed automatically; powers the in-game settings menu
🔧 Configuration
Open the in-game mod settings menu (provided by LethalConfig) to enable or
disable individual events, retune rarity weights/cooldowns/monster-power
scaling — virtually every number that affects gameplay is exposed there.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
