Neil Model
Adds a Neil suit to the rack: whoever wears it becomes Neil Vana from Death Stranding 2. Built on ModelReplacementAPI.
About this mod Author’s original text
Neil Model
Adds a Neil suit to the suit rack. Whoever puts it on is shown to everyone as Neil Vana from
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, built on ModelReplacementAPI.
- Full body model with his own proportions, sized so the hands land on the player's hands and the feet meet the floor.
- The headband look: bandana tied round the forehead, plate carrier, holstered pistol, backpack.
- Driven by ModelReplacementAPI like any other model replacement, so other players see it on you.
- In first person you keep the vanilla arms, recoloured to match (see GenerateViewModel below).
Everyone in the lobby needs the mod to see the model and to keep suits in sync.
Usage
Walk up to the suit rack in the ship and pick Neil.
Config
BepInEx/config/reagan.neilmodel.cfg, created on first launch.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- |
| SuitNames | Neil | Comma separated suit names that turn the wearer into Neil. |
| Backpack | true | Wear the backpack. |
| Wire | false | Show the rope wound round his neck, arms and backpack. It has no physics, so it stretches when the arms move. |
| FacePaint | true | Dark streaks on the face. Turn off for the clean face. |
| FitTo | Arms | Arms: the hands land on the player's hands. Legs: the legs are as long as the player's. |
| ScaleMultiplier | 1 | Extra scale on top of the automatic sizing. |
| HipsOffset | 0 | Raises or lowers the model, in game units (a player is about 2.6 tall). |
| MaxSmoothness | 0.75 | Lower it if the gear looks too shiny. |
| CompressTextures | true | Compress textures on load to save video memory. |
| GenerateViewModel | false | Let ModelReplacementAPI build first person arms from the model. |
The three look settings are read when the game starts and only change what you see on your own screen.
Notes
- The model is assembled when the game starts, not loaded from an asset bundle, so expect a short pause on launch.
- Hair, the headband tails and the pouches are rigid; there is no cloth or hair simulation.
- The sling bag and the bandana worn round the neck, eyes or mouth are not included.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
