Microwaveable Reality Check

v1.0.1·Updated 2024-12-11

A collection of client side mods that don't affect gameplay, and are simply visual. Enemies, ambient sounds, scrap, items, and even the terminal, have all been altered by your perception of reality.

About this mod Author’s original text

Change the very reality as you know it!

You had some space crack and now you see things past reality, beyond the quota, and even Shrek's swamp itself! The others don't know what your talking about and think your crazy, unless they too have ventured inside the Microwave.

Contains a few client sided mods that don't affect gameplay, work in public lobbies, and are purely visual.

You are the special employee:

The monsters make spooky sounds.

You hear sounds and voices differently than what they appear to be.

You tend to hallucinate different variants of some familiar items.

The theme music that plays in your head seems to have gotten louder.

The Voices in your head are Narrating you with plot elements, and sage advice.

You have access to illegally pirated car radio and TV channels, as well as your grandfather's record player.

You exchanged your boombox at the pawn shop for a dancing cat named Maxwell.

Goku, the TF2 Scout, American Nutcracker, and Donald Trump are tracking you down.

You have an imaginary friend that floats above your left shoulder and does funny dances sometimes.

You swapped that stock company clock for a Fancy digital watch you won from a fencing competition that gives you real-time Daylight information.

Your friends heads inflate like water balloons when they make funny sounds.

L is real.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
