Lethal Questing

Do you wish the game had more objectives than just survive the next quota? Lethal Questing brings you quests!

Upon landing on a moon, your crew will be assigned a mission which there is a money reward for doing.

This is a rather early version, expect more updates to come.

Features:

  • Quests will request a random type of scrap from the specific moon
  • A hotkey to toggle the text on HUD (can finally be bound to other keys)
  • Config options

Planned Features:

  • ~~Config options~~
  • Monster hunting quests
  • ~~A hotkey to toggle the text on HUD~~
  • Rewarding the crew with scrap items directly for harder quests (likely the next feature)
  • Punishing the crew sometimes for failing the quest
  • Enemy specific quests
  • Misc/fun quests

Bug Reports and Feature Requests

My mod has a github page where you can report any bugs you come across and request any features you think would be nice.

Especially important to come tell me if you think reward calculations are not balanced. (I'm not too good at that)

Known Issues/FAQ

  • When collecting easter eggs, player must be inside the ship when throwing or dropping it, otherwise it won't count towards the quest.
  • Occasionally items spawn in unreachable places, mod does not have a way to check this so it might request items that spawned in glitched spots. (this is very rare)
  • The amount of quests you get assigned is by default random inbetween 0-3. (randomness toggleable and amount configurable)

Regarding Game Balance

Its a straight positive for your crew, there are no punishments (for now) for not completing quests only rewards.

With that being said the rewards are mostly minor but it's still a net positive.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
