Lethal Company Hero Mode Challenge (v73)
An overhaul of the vanilla game loop designed for players that want a fair challenge while also not deviating from the core identity of Lethal Company. This pack is designed for groups of 4-6 players, but no more than 8.
The completion goal of this modpack is to clear Quota 15.
Are you up for the challenge?
Can you go further?
Before diving in...
- It is HIGHLY recommended that you ignore any individual mod updates within this pack as it may cause things to break. Please wait until the modpack itself gets updated, and only update the LC_Hero_Mode mod itself.
- When updating the pack, always check the CHANGELOG tab to see if any mods were removed. If so, these mods and their respective config files must be manually deleted as updates do not remove them automatically. A list of related.cfg files will be provided in the CHANGELOG under the respective update version to assist with manual cleanup. (Deleting and reinstalling a fresh copy of the pack circumvents having to do this).
- Know that every mod in this pack has been carefully configured to preserve game balance. Mods such as reserved slots are included, but they have been given an in-game cost via terminal purchase. Other mods like Better Stamina are also here, but qualify as a "Difficulty Modifier." Anything in the Difficulty Modifier category may be freely toggled off if you would like to further increase the challenge. (See Difficulty Modifier section)
- Please be sure to read the Known Issues section at the bottom as it provides workarounds for each of the known issues.
The Key Changes/Features
What you need to know.
- New moons & interiors to explore.
- All moons have been reduced to 0 credits.
- All runs begin on Experimentation which is visually hidden in the terminal, but always be available and routable.
- Upon clearing the first quota, three random moons will unlock and appear in the terminal. These moons will be shuffled at the start of every day, and the ship will automatically re-route to an available moon if you're still orbiting one that is no longer availabe.
- The deadline now scales with the quota. You will begin with 1-day deadlines. The deadline will rise to 2-days when your quota reaches the mid 800's, and 3-days when it approaches 2,200.
- Visiting moons with weather conditions will cause more scrap to spawn at higher values. Harsher weather conditions yield greater bonuses. You may view the weather bonus values on the ship's main monitor when orbiting the desired moon.
Difficulty Modifiers
These may be toggled on/off at your discretion to make your run more, or less challenging.
Better Stamina (Enabled by Default)
- Gives the players roughly 30% more stamina, increases regeneration, and decreases slowdown & stamina consumption when encumbered.
Health Recharge Station (Enabled by Default)
- Adds a health station above the battery charger in the ship that may be used to refill your health.
- TO DISABLE: Go into ShaosilGaming.GeneralImprovements.cfg and disable the AddHealthRechargeStation config under the mechanics category.
Buyable Shotguns and Shotgun Shells (Enabled by Default)
- Adds shotguns and shells to the store for purchase. These are meant to be late game unlocks & a compensation for the potential to never see Nutcrackers. Shotguns are priced at 3,000 credits and shells are 50 per.
Reserved Utility Slot (Enabled by Default)
- Adds a free dedicated slot for utility items similar to the vanilla feature added in v80+.
- The slot has been configured to allow most utility items as well as keys.
- Walkies in the utility slot will not respond to the hotkey shortcuts that are exclusive to the dedicated reserve slot; the item must be pulled out to be used.
- Flashlights in the utility slot will still respond to the hokey F to toggle them on/off.
Reserved Flashlight & Walkie Slots (Enabled by Default)
- Adds dedicated item slots for Flashlights and Walkies that can be purchased from the terminal.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
